Change flavors in an atomizer

Very very noob question: how do I change from one flavor to another in the same atomizer? I was more or less able to do that in the 510 by blowing a lot, but I can't quite figure out how to do it in the EGO. No matter how much I blow and "burn" by activating the battery, there is still the smell of the previous flavor.

I prefer cartomizers, but I want to know how to handle atomizers before I start experimenting with low resistance.

Some say all you have to do is blow the atty out from the battery end. This hasn't ever really worked for me. I have had indifferent success with dry burning as well. The only thing I have found so far that works is to soak in vodka or everclear for about 15 minutes, swish the atty around in it. Dry it off and blow it out, quick 5 second dry burn and it's good to go.

There is probably something I am doing wrong with the other methods and I would love to hear from more experienced vapers. My method works but it's a PITA. Having half a dozen attys on hand helps though.

Ok, that's very discouraging to hear. I might stick to cartomizers.
