I don't know what power you're using to run the Nautilus but it needs a little more power than the k1. I usually run my Nautilus Mini from 10 to 15 watts depending on the juice. Start low and work your way up.
Most people don't have any trouble with flavor from the Nauti, I'm sure it's just an adjustment issue. What battery/mod are you using it on? What coil did you have in the K1, versus in the Nauti? How is your power set?
The 1.8 ohm coils are rated up to 20 watts. Many find the 'sweet spot' on the Nautilus tanks to be somewhere in the range of 10-14W, personally coming from a VV mod I always ran my Nautilus tanks in VV mode with my 'sweet spot' at 4-5V and (depending on juice) 5.5V being the highest. (I'd start getting a burnt taste at 5.5V so often would back it off from there)
Outside of the dismal tank capacity, the K1's are awesome little tanks with the BVC coils. I often think that I can get more airflow and vapor production out of my K1's then the 1/2 dozen of Nautilus tanks I bought to replace the Aspire K1's and Maxi's with.
What nic mg are you using? If you double your wattage (5 watts to 10) and keep the same nic level, it'll knock you for a loop. Try using a lower nic liquid and vaping between 10-12 watts. That seems to be fairly prime territory for the Mini.
Did you properly prime the head?
If you didn't the wicking material is most likely scorched / burned.
Starting off at a low power & slowly working you're way up for the first tank is always a good idea to prevent burning the wicking material & ' breaking in' a new head.
