Personally I wash the tank and change the coil (aspire nautilus / atlantis user here). If the coil is still good I will keep it lightly wrapped in a paper towel and placed in a small zip-lock bag labeled with juice I had in the tank / on the coil. Then I wash and dry the tank / replace and prime the coil / fill the tank and vape away. Some juices that are very potent I have had to soak the tank in vodka to get the flavor out of (cinnamon flavor usually). This is just my experience with my tanks. Hope that helps.

Welcome to ECF!

I have multiple tanks so I don't have to switch too often. When it is time for a coil change is a good time to change juice after cleaning the tank, running under warm water and blowing/drying it off. If not changing the coil, I remove the coil before cleaning the tank, re-assemble, and fill with juice of choice. Get a bit of the old flavor the first few pulls, but it is soon gone.

Hi toofargone and welocome to the forum!

Well, now you have three different answers, and the amazing thing is --- they all work for their respective users. Sometimes it's like that. You'll find your preferred method in no time.

Happy Vaping!

Depends...if I'm switching between flavors that aren't new to me, I'll just vape the tank dry and refill it with the different liquid. I might rinse out the tank section, but I don't bother to tear it down and re-wick/build just for the sake of switching between familiar flavors.

But I always run new flavors in a clean, re-wicked, possibly re-coiled tank. Actually, I tend to put off washing/rewick/building until I've got new flavors to try. I'm lazy, what else can I say? I guess I've just washed/rewicked so many times that now it's only enjoyable when it's part of the "try new flavors" ritual.

Hey

you could simply add the new flavour and wait for the new liquids flavour profile to come through however I find it tends to blend together rather than overtake the previous profile . I can suggest what I would try and see if it suits you .. if not I apologize . If you are using nautilus / Atlantis type tank and not something very beginner this will help . You can take the tank apart and clean the pyrex glass with warm or hot water and then cue tip your drip tip to clean residue . If you don't have time for this step .. simply follow these next but I advise the first if you can .. you can unscrew the tank and "dry burn" the coil but nothing serious since were not using a self build coil in an RDA etc. Simply pulse the coil by firing the button for 1 to 3 seconds at a time and blow into the coil from a distance as to be safe . You will see the coil fogging the vapour and burning off the old liquid / flavour ... after this you could do a drop of new liquid into the dry coil or just simply clean your drip tip with a cue - tip if on hand and replace flavour with new .

With your NEW flavour inside .. "prime" the coil by covering the air flow and doing a few unfired puffs/pulls off the drip tip to force the liquid into the coil better .. you should see some bubbles rising within your tank ... now you can fire a few tester puffs and then proceed to your inhaling and enjoying your new flavour . This sounds longer than it actually takes so don't worry and if it doesn't work for you .. I apologize it is simply what has worked for me ... you can try it and adjust it to your liking . Just remember not to dry burn these types of coils very long or much at all and do not prime too much or you will get some gurgle action .

hope this helps ! vape safe

Hey toofargone. Welcome!

I posted this the other day in response to a question much like yours.

Try this:
Take the bottom off the tank. Remove the coil. Rinse out the tank and base with hot water. Hold the coil right up to the faucet screen so that hot water is forced through it. Do it from both top and bottom of coil. This step will force the old flavor out of the coil/wick. Dry everything thoroughly. If you rinse everything in alcohol after the hot water it will speed up the drying process. Reassemble, fill with juice and let it sit upright for a few minutes to get the wicks/coil wet. Dry hit it until you taste the juice. Fire it up.
If I'm switching to a similar flavor (like wintergreen to spearmint) I don't bother. If the flavors are quite different (say lemonade to peppermint) I go through the whole process.
Good luck!

I don't dump any leftover juice back in the bottle, but like Sthur said, most juices are good to go after a few puffs. Usually take me more than 4-5 to completely get the other one gone, but just a few minutes. It'll blend at first, but then the old flavor will be gone. Now, depending on how strong your grape is...... this may not work with that. Some juices will completely take over a tank and you won't get it out. Some grapes I've heard will do that. But just try it and see. If you do rinse your coil, it'll be gurgly with little to no vapor for a bit til you get the water vaped out of the coil, but that's no biggie, just keep puffing. I usually vape fruity or sweet juices, so I don't have issues with just vaping it dry, or dumping out a bit of remaining liquid and filling with the new.

So many options ☺ as with so many things there isn't a single right answer . How do people go about tasting liquids. Say you get a dozen liquids and want to taste them all without filling up a tank. Are they called "drippers" ?

Sorry for the silky questions

Avid atomizers 2 ohm. Have 3 of them. Test 3 flavors. Rinse under warm running water. Shake out the excess water. .
HH.357 Long Barrel Hybrid 510 Atomizer - Avid Vaper

The Avid atomizers are a little pricey. There are other brands, Joy I think, that are less expensive. They have no wick which makes them easy to rinse. When finished leave some unflavored pg/vg inside to keep the metal covered. I left the first atomizers that I had sparkling clean. The next time I used them there was a metal taste that nothing would get rid of.

You may need to pace yourself when testing flavors or your taste buds may start playing tricks on you. I may test 3 flavors in the morning, then 3 in the evening. When possible, I start with a mild flavor, something a little stronger with the strongest flavor last at each testing session.

It is trial and error to find the equipment and method that works best for you.
