I haven't touched pre-built coils in a long time but if you are changing out similar flavors, I suggest not to dip it in water.
If you absolutely have to, I suggest hot diluted water, not tap or mineral water since it is not good from what I hear.

I would be very surprised if it worked, I tried to soak and clean a few in Everclear and never had any luck. I just used 2 tanks and kept the fruit stuff in one and the darker tobacco things in the other. Most thinks in my regular rotation would mix into one of those 2 tanks with no weird tastes from the last thing that was in there.
If you want to be cost effective, kanger Mini RDA kit will save you tons. And also rebuilding is pretty easy and you can learn it from a local vape store. When changing flavors all you gotta do is swap out the organic cotton!
I've done it with OCC and Other Pre-Made Coils. The Results vary.
If your Original Flavor was something light, like say Peach, and you're moving to something that might blend well, like say Strawberry, then it can work.
But if you are moving from something like Mocha Coffee and then going to say Watermelon, that Probably is going to Taste like Puke.
My Only tip would after you Rinse out the Head, you Don't have to Completely Dry it Out. Just Shake/Blow as much water out of it as you Can. The plug it into your Filled up Tank.
The First 4 or 5 Hits will be Weak. Due to the Excess water in the Cotton. But after that, it will be fine.
Or just give dripping a try. Many say dripping and driving don't mix. But I've found that not to be true. I use a vector addy and leaking issues are largely eliminated. I've become quite skilled at reloading at a stoplight.
Rinsing is hit and miss. I prefer the multiple tank option...haven't had much luck rinsing them myself. Fruity type flavors I just refill and vape, no issues.
Seriously tho, try dripping, you will fall in love with it.

Get a Saturday - Sunday plastic pill box. Whenever you want to change out a flavored coil put it in a day of the week compartment. Then, use a Sharpie to put an abbreviation for the flavor on the side of the container. Next time you'll have a ready to use coil. The day of the week pill containers can be found at the grocery store, pharmacy or Walmart. They are not expensive. A storage box for small electronic parts, with the initials written on the top, would serve the same purpose.
You can also try vaping unflavored juice to clear out most of the original flavor. It is trial and error to learn which flavors can be followed one after the other. A stronger flavor over a weaker flavor works best.
Thanks for your replies, i'm going to get some kanthal and try RBA for the first time - gonna need a magnifying glass aswell seeing how small the coil will be!

Dripping is simply applying drops of juice onto a coil and wick. The dripping atomizer (RDA) is a base with a 510 connector a coil of wire and a wick. juice is dropped onto the coil power is applied and vapor is produced.

I wrap my coil heads in a paper towel while I clean my tanks. By the time I put it back together most of the old juice is out of the coil.
