Charger question

Still learning here, thank you for your patience. A charger came with an eGo type batt I bought. How do I know if it will work with 'any' usb wall wort? Like can I use my kindle, phone, or ?????? How would I know what to buy? Thank you. Pat PS Please don't think that my laptop does not have an enter key. For some reason I am not able to start a new paragraph. Someone said it is an IE thing on the update so I may have to use firefox or ? moving forward.

As far as the wall wart. It has to be 5v - of course, and have an output current of 500 mA minimum. Any of them that say on their info plate their current output is 500 mA or higher will work. Less than 500 mA - don't do it.

See the Site Help & Info section. There is a thread there recently re: "Why doesn't my return key work" or something, that discusses the IE 10 problem. I think the "fix" for now is you have to use the basic message editor mode. Change the setting in your ECF profile. [edit] This won't be just a problem with this forum - you will encounter that same issue on any forum that uses PHP.

500 mA is standard for most USB wall warts.

There is also a standard for high-capacity / fast chargers, which are rated at ~2,100 mA (aka 2.1 A). You just need to check which you need.

One last 'belt & suspender' post about the charger: There will be an info plate on an eGo charger dongle. The standard charger will read:

Input DC 5v 500 mA
Output DC 4.2v 420 mA

That's the key - if it says input 500 mA that's the minimum current requirement. Any USB wall wart that is rated 500 mA or higher current output will do.
