Hi,

I have a TM Riva which came with a wall wart usb charger rated at 5V 500mA and a usb charger cable rated at 5V in, 4.2V 420mA out.

I'm thinking of making a passthrough for it, and I'm aware that the 500mA isn't going to cut it, so I'm looking to buy another generic wall wart/usb charger for an iPad which is rated at 5.1V 2100mA.
Should I keep searching for one that is exactly 5V 2A, or will this be ok to use as a PT?

Also, I think it should be ok to use the usb charger cable (420mA) with the 2.1A wall wart, but can you guys confirm this for me? I just want to be sure

If I was to attach an atty connector to a standard usb cable, and connect it to the new wall wart, would I blow anything up at 5.1V 2.1A instead of 4.2V 420mA?

I asked a similar question and was told the usb charger would only draw what it is rated for, so you should be ok.

If I was to attach an atty connector to a standard usb cable, and connect it to the new wall wart, would I blow anything up at 5.1V 2.1A instead of 4.2V 420mA?

This should be fine as long as you use an atty/carto that can handle the higher voltage. ( from 3.4 that is )

I am sure if I'm wrong someone will correct me.
