Hey guys, i just got my first ecig and i am charging my battery. Its turned green for a couple hours now, but my little booklet says that i should charge it for the first time for 8 hours, then vape on it for 20 minutes and charge it for a whole NOTHER hour..

I've never heard of that kinda ritual with new rechargable batteries before. Do i really have to do it that way and if i dont will it damage or shorten my battery life? :wails: I havent been able to try vaping even ONCE yet because my battery is spost to be on the bloomoin charger for 8 hours?!

Wails!!

HELP!

I believe that was the way it was in the beginning...i think that batteries have gotten better. I got my first 510 kit and used one of my batteries (had a decent charge on it) right away and put the other on the charger. I switched when the one i was using died. I find with batteries...you are better to fully drain them and then recharge....but that's just an opinion...and there are plenty of those around here that i'm sure would disagree :)

Welcome to vaping.

If the indicator light on the charger is green the batt is charged and ready for vaping. I have charged new batts both ways - 'charge it for the first time for 8 hours, then vape on it for 20 minutes and charge it for a whole NOTHER hour' and just charge it until the charger indicator light is green. I haven't noticed any difference in battery life or in the number of recharges needed per batt per day. You should get anywhere from 80 - 100 draws (puffs) from a fully charged batt regardless of the charge method.

Hi Flash,

I have 10 Mega Batts and 6 standard batts, I charge them all on my original charger and my 5 battery charger that I got from Totally Wicked and have never had a problem. Lithium Ion batteries will safely charge up to 4.2 volts, the difference between the regular and megas is the mAh (milliamp hours) that they will hold which is just a measurement of how much time you can discharge the battery for.

Hope this helps,
Tink
