Good advice, the discharge is what really takes a toll on longevity.Xtar vp2 @ 0.25amps
Let batteries cool off before putting them on charger and dont discharge them too fast either, less heat the better imo for longetivity
How long does that take?i charge my HG2s on my Xtar at .25. I know they can be charged higher, but I have enough spares that I can wait.
How long does that take?
Wow, that's a long time to monitor a charger. If I run them down to 3.65 volts or so, it will take about 5 1/2 hours.

What exactly do you think monitoring your charger consists of?Yea right, like I'm gonna monitor it for 6 hours lol
Just being in the same room really, my room is closed so, I can't really monitor it from another room. And I have things to do and can't really sit in one room all day. What exactly do you think monitoring your charger consists of?

As long as there is a smoke detector in the room, when these batteries vent it could start a large fire quickly. By the time you smell smoke it could be too late if in a different area.NO NO NO
Let's be realistic.
Conscious, aware and in the same building will more than suffice.

I have lost a house to fire, being excessively careful is realistic in my opinion.
My floors are all tile, I just sit my charger on the floor when I'm charging.
And I used to be a job coordinator/foreman/fire and water restoration technician.
I dealt with people who lost everything the same way for half a decade.
No need for hyper sensitivity to cripple your friends and acquaintances also.

Dealing with people who lose everything in fire and being the people is not the same thing. Including life!
What does that even mean? Dealt with?
I think sleeping in another room while batteries are charging is (insert some word here) but I didn't judge or make light of the comment. Just because you are careless (or carefree) doesn't mean others should be.
I think you are desensitized not that I'm hypersensitive.
Oh one more thing, yourat having a functional smoke detector in the room the charger is in says a lot about your mentality.
Wow, that's a long time to monitor a charger.
