Charging batteries with wires

So if I took a 14500 liion batt and used a cell phone charger with exposed wires touched to the positive and negative ends of the battery would it charge? I know its not safe but if I just need to charge one battery one time will it work?

I am not a modder, but I would say that you are correct about it not being safe. Why chance it? I know I would not. Please stay safe.

Considering how fast a cell phone charges a phone, and that an e-cig batt is about a 10th of that, my experience tells me it'll probably blow.

if you have a mod box or other simple mod with no circuits you can put a 510 extension on it, tape the button down, and put a 510 stick charger on it but it will take a long time......

You have to charge a round cell Li-Ion with a charger made for the cell. Cell phone chargers are often just a power source where the phone manages charging internally. It's possible the voltage from the cell phone charger is much too high which will result in severe damage to the 14500 at best and will cause the battery to vent at worst.

If you know for sure the phone charger has the charging managment built into the adapter, it would work, but since you're asking, you probably don't know one way or the other.
