The amperage of the charger should not exceed the the capacity of the batteries so they should be above 700mAh. Otherwise I wouldn't leave it unattended or do it without checking with a multimeter every so often. Have you got an old cellphone charger or even a 510 charger maybe?

That is one issue only. The other part is making sure that the charger cuts off as close to 4.2v as possible especially with the LiMn batts. i realize you don't want to wait around and this is a temporary fix, but could you charge the camera battery and measure it's voltage when fully charged first? I certainly don't want to say go ahead and do it only to have you burn down the house, so do use caution.

I use Canon charger about 1.5 years to charge eGo batteries. It works perfectly. But camera battery has a third contact - thermistor. If you simply connect eGo accumulator to such charger, it thinks that your battery is defective, and does not allow to charge. So you have to use a resistor which imitates thermistor's resistance. In my case cold resistance is 10 kOm. If you use a different charger, test cold resistance of your thermistor (inside camera battery). It goes usually betwen ground (minus) and a separate contact.
