Well, first thing you want to do is consider ordering from a certified eGo supplier, preferably one of the suppliers on the ECF website, because there are lots of flukes that look just like the official ones in stores. In the meantime, try charging for a couple of hours, and make sure all the parts are screwed on tightly, but not too tight. Cleaning it would also be a good idea. Also take a look at your tank and make sure it's working properly. You haven't given any details as to what model, tank, and so on. There are hundreds of eGo batteries and thousands of tanks, and just saying it's eGo isn't much help, so giving some more details would help.

Put the clearomizer on the battery. Push the button on the battery 5 times rapidly, just a very brief pause between. That should turn the battery on. On my batteries, 5 rapid clicks will turn the battery on or off.

This just might be it. If it successfully powered on, it should blink three times.

It's true their are a lot of counterfeit egos about. If it does not work you might consider taking it back. You can order a 1 100 mah joyetech ego twist with variable voltage for around 23.00. The variable voltage is nice because you can adjust the volts to different flavors of juice and it really helps to bring out the flavors of the juice. If it's not working , you might consider getting the ego twist by joyetech. I think you might really like it. I know I do. I wish you the best. Let us know if you got it working.
