I just bought it yesterday and it was fully charged. As of right now, the battery is reading 3.9. Now I'm pretty confident it will last me my entire work day tomorrow but part of me wants to charge it just on case.

Now I've heard various things about first time charging with rechargeable batteries. I've heard some say a first time charge doesn't matter with modern batteries. But I've heard others say to deplete your battery completely because the battery needs to be conditioned first for proper memory.

Now I'm going by my research of smartphones and am assuming this would be the same. Do you guys think it's ok to charge overnight or should I let it run out first?

Top em off early and top em off often. :)

It will keep them happy and will prolong their lifespan.

Ask Ars: What is the best way to use a Li-ion battery? | Ars Technica

One common misconception is that Li-ion batteries will only count charge cycles if the battery is drained completely in one session; another is that the battery counts one charge cycle for every instance the device is unplugged and plugged in again. Neither of these is true—Li-ion batteries actually count charge cycles based on a 100 percent discharge even when it's summed over multiple sessions. For example, if you discharge a battery to 50 percent one day, charge it back to 100 percent, then discharge it 50 percent again the next day, that is counted as one "cycle" of the battery. So shallow discharges, in all these regards, are ideal for a Li-ion battery.
