If you charge it before it is sufficiently drained, you will dramatically shorten battery life, AND you run the risk of over-charging, and ruining the battery, and maybe even causing it to vent or explode while charging. ESPECIALLY if you charge it overnight when you are not watching it.

I NEVER charge my batteries overnight. I only plug them in in the evening when I get home from work--they are usually charged by the time i go to bed, and then I unplug them.

One way to get around having to constantly charge the same battery every day is to buy a spare and rotate them. eGo's are cheap, and a spare is always a good thing to have anyway, in case one dies...

+1 for spare battery you never know when you will need a spare and i often use one til its dead then plug it in and use the other when its charging.

no nead to drain them all the way there is no memory effect on li-ion battery's whatsoever, reference for non-believers:)~

i charge battery's over night all the time and have had no problems but to be safe i just ensure they are on a non flammable surface.

When I said "shorten battery life" I wasn't referring to charge memory, I meant that the battery would fail sooner (not take a charge anymore) if you didn't properly cycle it before charging, multiple times. This is totally different from the "charge memory" issue that you have with NiCad batteries.

Thanks for that link--very interesting info...

actually they last longer (you get more charge cycles) if you dont fully discharge them by more then double if you only use them to 50%, the more you discharge them the more stress they take ,shortening there life.
a link again:)

sorry not trying to prove anyone wrong, i just see alot of misinformed people about battery's and electronics is my profession, so i like to help put some facts out there to help some people out:)

Thanks for the info. I thought it was bad for them. But at 50% more charge cycles, wont it balance out because your only draining them 50%? So your charging them twice as much?
