Im looking to get a CHEAP (sub $20) mech mod for building coils.

Ive recently got into temp controll, rda's and RTA's and sub-ohming. Im looking to find a cheap mech mod for finishing up coils (dry burns ect) before they move onto my temp controll PV.

Single 18650 should be more then enough, box style as opposed to flashlight is preferable.

Anybody have a favorite?

Knurled king clone in brass or copper.
About $15-20 all over the net, solid as a rifle barrel, copper contacts, recessed button, reverse threaded locking ring.
Durable, extremely low voltage drop, never misfires, extremely simple to service and clean.

Bulletproof device. Perfect for what you are looking for.

King v2 Mod Clone #IMPROOF-Brass - $14.99 - Vape95.com

Why would you use a mech for these applications? I personally prefer to do this on my regulateds rather then on my mech, incase i would accidently short the coil while perfecting it.

A cheap nemesis clone on FT is prolly as cheap as it gets, they've recently put down the price at mere 10$
If anything just take a look at the whole variety of cheap mods FT offers. :)

But again imo it seems counter inutive to use a mech to perfect the coils vs doing it on a regulated...

Id rather use a regulated device to be honest, however finding a cheap (again sub $20) regulated device, that can fire a 0.05ohm atty seems impossible. With protected li-ions/imr and not being stupid i dont think mech would be a problem.

Id rather not build and test a coil on my expensive regulated mods as the wildly changing resistance, shorts ect could (in theory) cause problems with the electronics, i rather not take that chance.
I saw a lot of cheap ones on FT, but i dont trust the reviews there thats why posting here :p

I used to use a cheap used Hcigar Hammer Clone I picked up to build on (then to a Ohm Meter to test of course before back to the Hammer to finish) and fire to compress & dress on. Nice and heavy and just ran it in 18350 Config.
Actually miss it for that purpose. Worked well for that.
Sounds interesting ill defiantly be checking that out, thanks for the tip!

FYI the forum reviews on FT ( as well as the discussions on the item page) are very good.
Those guys live for clones and buy almost everything listed on the site.
You can get good info and breakdown pics for almost everything there.

Ah i see, that makes sense. :)
Just make sure you know what you're doing. :)
Edit: 0.05? That's what multimeters are for, or well sort of.
I wouln't build anything under 0.2 without a good MM. Unless it was a typo on your part. :)

I should have said a 0.05 BUILD not coil :p. most of my coils end up in the 0.15-0.2 range, but start doing double coils thatll drop to 0.075-0.1 and thats without getting fancy lol

Thats good to know, ive always lumped them im with the other china sites. 90% of people dont know what they are reviewing, and the ones that do get their reviews deleted lol.

Be sure to click the "discussions" link on the product page of any item you are thinking of buying.
More information than the reviews, and not really censored at all. They even have breakdown pics and "fixes" if needed.
Tons of good info if you are clone shopping

That is backwards.
Use the regulated mod for testing your coil.
If the regulated mod refuses to work, maybe it's because the coil is shorting out!

But if you are looking for excitement, you could experiment your coil with a mech

.1 ohms is 42 amps on a fresh battery....I don't know of any battery rated for that.

I'd be more worried about your face and hands then your expensive regulated mods....

might have to grab one. any experience with their mod quality?

Tons.
I have ordered from angelcigs many times.
They are legit, and those are the good king clones.
I have 5 knurled king clones and just ordered one of those copper one last night. ( along with a few RDAs and a Lunacy mod for the wife)
