Cheaper mods that don't rattlesnake?

None that I am aware of. The least expensive use a non-replaceable battery such as the Innokin iTaste VV/VW 3.o and MVP.
The Provari and DNA mods use replaceable batteries, but these are higher end, more costly mods.

I hear a rattlesnake sound from my Sigelei Zmax when I use LR cartos at 6.0 to 8.0 watts. I don't hear a thing using a high resistance carto at the same power. The rattlesnake is just a sound from the carto, however. I don'l notice any effect on the vapor quality.
How about a mechanical mod and a kick? I don't have a kick, but I think I heard that they don't rattlesnake.

VTR runs at 48hz so probably still qualifies as one of the rattlesnake mods
I don't have one myself, but I've read that it uses a filter like the VV and MVP.

It's definitely 48hz, there is a review somewhere that shows the oscilloscope reading. I have one, very happy with it, it's a good vape, but not as smooth as my DC Semovar.
I don't know what a rattlesnake is... is that where you shake it and something inside sounds loose?
The VTR does NOT make any noise when you shake it at all. The new one I just got has the screw bolted down so it doesn't turn, and works great

Most Chinese-made mods fire a 33.3 hz frequency with their PWM (pulse width frequency) regulating processor circuits to achieve variable voltage/wattage. To many people, this is an audible tone often described as a rattlesnake sound. Mods such as the Provari, those with the DNA chip20, the iTaste MVP and V3, and the Semonar fire a much higher frequency. The Provari's is over 800 hz, and outputs a steady flat line on an oscelloscope. Many attribute mods with this chip as having a much smoother vape than those with the 33.3 hz chip.

Huh? We are talking about VTR here I thought? VTR weighs more than double a Provari, WITH a full tank loaded with juice on it. Lighter? Why do you have a VTR then? The VTR is possibly the heaviest mod made.

MVP2 is a throwaway disposable after a few months, and the VTR is identical to the Provari and interchanges batteries with my 18650 Provari. There's no plug in on the VTR either, you are carrying batteries around if you have one.
You would have to vape like a mad man to throw away an MVP2 after a few months. Even at 200 full recharge cycles daily which is kind of tough with 2600 mAh, you are looking at 6 months. I'm recharging my MVP2 2 times a week, so your looking at 2 years....
I'm not trying to start a war, but there is a world of difference between a single eGo-T that you charge twice a day and are lucky to get 3 months out of and an MVP 2.
I have to agree. I'm a high wattage chain vapor, and even I only need to charge my MVP 2 every 2.5 days.
I have 2 MPV2's, the first one is 2 months old and is pretty worn out (looks brand new), so I picked up a new one.
Ego-T? I suspect Ego-T's last 5-10x longer than MVP2's in longevity.

With a total of 19 pv and 28 unique tops now, I think I have a basis for comparison. Yes, the Ego-T lasts longer than the MVP2 for durability, and yes, the MVP2 is a disposable, a very nice one (my new one is silver).

Mine went 4 days between charges when I first got it, and I never let it run down to 0. Now it's about 1.5 days... but the power is not the same, even adjusting, it FEELS like it's wearing out... it's not dead yet tho, but it's not as good as it was when new. I really do love them, so got another one, and I will keep replacing it. But they are disposable because you can't change out the battery.
