How do you know you have a pm and how do you check them? I'd like to pay it forward and want it to go smoothly thanks

Hi and welcome

When you log in you should see your name in the top right hand corner.
Next line it will tell you the last time you visited here.
The bottom line says Private Messages: Unread and then how many. then the total of messages you have recieved.

You just click on Private Messages and it will take you right to them any time you want.

On some other forums I belong to that use the same application as this one (vBulletin®) I usually get a pop-up message or an email when I have a PM waiting for me.

This may or may not be controllable in your profile though.

Yes controllable in User CP. Can get a pop up window for new pm's.

Then under the "Private Messages" section, check the option for "Show New Private Message Notification Pop-up", then scroll all the way down and click "Save Changes" - I'd never notice PM's without that feature.

When I want to check for PMS...I just ask my wife for some money for more e-juice...then I can tell by her answer!
