I have yet to sound off, but i am sure he will see this. I just got my friend from the engineering field to look at the batterie(i haven used one of them), he told me that its obvious that the batteries are used and not new. new batteries shouldnt have user marks. The seller did assured me that it is new, but after what my friend said. I dont know man. Should i just let it go or approach him? I mean we are living in an environment where vaping is already so difficult. Shouldnt we like help one another instead of taking advantage of the situation?

The marks may be caused by seller testing the batts. FYI. Similiarly marks on the batt connector may be caused by seller testing the PV. Seriously there are no known methods to determine if it is new as all of them have to undergo some sort of factory testing.

Unfortunately, in our context, it is caveat emptor if you got your stuff from non-verified suppliers. Even with OS source, they usually allow claim only on DOA cases.

To put it bluntly, if you can't show substantial proof that what you got is used goods i.e. Visible scratch marks on non contact surfaces, juice traces & etc. You would have no recourse. Naming and shaming the sellers would not benefit you any further.

That being said, open your eyes wider and get your stuff through sources that either you or your friend know.

What if there is a scratch across the top of both the batteries? Karl, i understand what you are trying to say. That is why I didn't post his name down. If my intention is to shame him. I would have done it since the first post. My intentions is to know what my rights are when it comes to such situations, and what can be done. Well, I guess I have gotten the answer indirectly. I will of cause open my eyes bigger from now on.

Thanks six! It is working as described.

To the seller- thanks for your prompt text. And I'm fine with you saying that that was our last deal, so be it. Blame it on our luck yea.

anyway i bought a used tank from the forum... and i thought we vapers all have same standards. so i paid up USD$24 for a tank. when i received it, it smelt like pina colada (can't get rid of the smell no matter how many washes). fine... it was a pain to fill then not only that the condition of the tank was definately not worth $25 i paid. had i paid slightly more i could have easily got a brand new and better one. i'll be sure to get more pictures next time before buying a used tank. really upset. i have yet to pm the seller about this.

it feels like .... when you think that everyone in the community is as honest as yourself and then you get .... like that. you just feel so cheated. so yea i know how it feels, when you receive a 'brand' new product with signs of rigorous 'testing'.

Six- maybe some people's definition of 'new' and 'used' are different. In my perception, new= checked and fired up. If to check you can take 3 puffs from it, thats considered used. I mean lets be honest here, user marks should be minimal if it is only used for checking or testing. If it is one very defined mark I wonder what kind of checks are performed. MAybe in future if we wanna get any used of new sets, we need to ask very very specific questions to ensure that their standard and ours tallies.

Or, e seller did u a favour by charging e batts before u got them. I noticed tt after charging just once, they'll leave a mark at e negative end of e batt especially if yours is e big batt kind as they're harder to remove from e charger slots. Just got some batteries in e mail and charged earlier today and noticed slight scuffing after removing frm e charger.

i have met 2 members and bought 2 lavatubes (one was for a friend, and don't bother looking in the classifieds they both came thru pm lol), and they are both locals. sold me the LT as described, in used but good condition. but the tank was really in un-usable condition, it seemed to work at first. then i filled it up and left it on the table for a day.... the juice leaked all over, thank god i placed it on a tissue.

now after paying 24usds, i'm still looking for a good tank. hell i'll even use the cheapo tanks while waiting for a good tank.

I've gotten quite a few piece of PV since the start. I did my first purchase of 2 SDKs. Standard package is two carto and one batt, i was still new and green hence i didnt really look it up. When the package arrived, it was 2batts and 2carto. Like i mentioned, i was still new hence i didnt ask enough before the purchase. After which, i saw a local site selling it. That was when i realised that standard pack comes in two carto. I was thinking oh well, hopefully after the initial purchase the seller will be nicer in terms of selling me stuff at a cheaper rate. Well both SDKs died, one was a ejuice spill from DCT over the automatic battery (my neglience), the other one was a sudden shortening of battery life, anddddd it died.

i went to read up and told myself that ok, its time for a V.V. Was looking at a LT and a Ego V.V, bought both. Ego is fine, nothing's wrong. But the LT was the one with the battery user marks. I know that inital charges and all can cause the marks. But the markings are way too defined. My friend show me a picture of his 18650 when it first arrived. Trust me, mine look nothing like that. Well, after so much ranting, i wanna urge everyone out there to either stick to local sites, they are trustable, that is why they are still around, or to be referred to one by your friends. And to all sellers, please be as honest as possible. We are in these together:) Peace out!

If you can convince Painfreak, he's got an awesome lil mama tank for trade in classifieds. Me personally, i'm kinda happy with smoktech tanks. They work and i think i can get the o-rings relatively easily via my mechanic.
