Cherry Bomber sucks?

I just got my Cherry Bomber mod in and this thing is a huge disappointment. First off, the 510 connector was not even screwed in. I had to basically assemble the device upon arrival. The firing button is getting EXTREMELY hot when i fire the device and it isnt spring loaded. So when i hit the button it often gets stuck. Luckily, it barely manages to fire every time i hit the button so i dont have to worry about it staying on when it gets stuck. Has anyone encountered the same problems or am i the only one with these issues?

One positive note is i bought the black version so i do not have the grounding issue with the atty and the box itself.

I noticed there actually is a spring inside the firing button. However, everytime i fire the device, the firing button gets red hot and the spring loses its effect. Did they cheap out on the spring? Is there any replacement i can get to fix this problem?

Sounds like you have a bad connection or a short. the spring is a safety thing and is supposed to lose it's tension if you have a short. What is the resistance of your atty coil?
some tanks/attys will short to the case on the cherrybomb causing a short.

The Cherry Bomber is notorious for hot buttons and autofiring. Please be careful.

A shop out here has had to replace every single one they have sold (over 20) because of some dangerous issues like the above.

Im using two sony vtc4 batteries at a .15 twisted coil build (5 strands twisted). I have no idea what i could possibly be shorting on. Theres no loose kathal in there. Im using a plume veil atty on it (22mm) that fits great. Its the black version so it doesnt short from contact. Im baffled. Ive rebuilt the whole device 4x now and it keeps happening. I cant figure it out. Please someone help. I can inbox my Skype if someone wouldnt mind talking me through this.

Just curious, is the 510 copper? I got a VF clone recently and there were metal shavings in the copper 510. They were causing the mod to read my attys as shorted. A mech won't tell you its shorting.

I stripped the + sign part of it a bit when i was trying to put the thing together. I dont see any shavings anywhere, but the top portion isnt perfectly smooth. Will this cause a short?

I didn't see shavings in mine either. Started cleaning it with alcohol and q tips and lo and behold I saw two teeny tiny little shavings on the q tip. And I mean tiny. After that it worked fine.

Yeah it sounds like you're having a shorting issue. I would search videos and threads pertaining to assembly and maintenance to see if you can solve the problem. I wouldn't use it unless it's working well.

Still got scorching hot and now the button is loose once again. This thing is squeeky clean at this point and its still doing it.

I think you're going to have to through it with a multimeter.

I don't have one and short of looking at it in person, I don't know what to suggest, sorry.

No worries mate. I plugged my subtank mini on it and its firing fine. The button barely gets warm after about 5 long drags

Ok, then its either:

Your other atty, or
The build is too low for the spring in the switch to handle

Oh so i probably just need a better spring? I didnt realize the spring could only handle a certain resistance! Ill just buy a magnetic system tomorrow and solve all my problems?

Oh, it can definitely be the spring. A heavier spring would allow a lower build, as may magnets.
