Bevapehappy sells mcv magnet sets, the standard size is what fits on cb and cb 1:1 clones (ivogo). Like 5 or 6 bucks too.
When i received my cb i purchased 4 vtc4s to use exclusively on it. One time i put in an older set by accident and got hot button action. Switched back to one of the new pairs immediately and it disappeared. I never even switched out spring in switch its still holding up after a month more or less and i load .08-.12 builds on it. My adv on it is a .1 and it doesnt even flinch.
So i guess older, more worn batteries struggle with the device? Who knows. Those same batts are what i use for hexohm and other mechs, but the cb doesnt seem to like them for some reason.

Excellent! Thank you for your help :)

I say, go with the magnets.

I have three cherry bombers. It's my daily vape.
Here are some tips:
The clones have crappy springs that can cause a hot button.

The Ivogo version is the better clone. It has crap springs too.

MCV panzer magnets fit and are cheap and pretty easy to find online.

If it's aluminum, remember to add a dab of NoAlOx. The button is brass, and it has copper contacts. Aluminum is notorious for oxidizing when touching other metals.

Clean it often and it will hit like a beast.

I love mine.

Chipotle.
As Bad Ninja has stated, the MCV panzer magnets fit(the STANDARD set) as seen in my pictures below.

higher ohms...... what gauge wire are you using to make the 5 twist coils with??

26 gauge Kanthal. I previously stated the build was .13 --> .15 ohms. I know the batteries can handle it, but that spring just gets melted instantly. Even if i pulse. In a few hrs im going to call some local shops and see what i can find

Here's what I did: Ordered the Panzer springs from FatDaddys along with a V4 510 connector. Replaced the 510 and spring and it hits like a beast now. Be sure to leave the plastic ring on top when replacing the 510. I posted a video on the FatdaddyVApes webpage if you're interested.

I've fired 0.06 on the Cherry Bomber with the magnets in the switch with no hint of any heat in the button, so that may help you a great deal.

Could you link me the video? Also, the mod i have has a solid copper 510 connector. Only thing better than that would be silver plated and i dont know how monumental the difference would be. Does that V4 connector make that big of a difference?

Are there different quality magnets?

Don't go there, I'm more than ready to counter anything you've got coming. Didn't really think I needed my usual "Do not attempt" disclaimer on that post, but you've proven me wrong I suppose. Kinda getting old honestly, sort of feels like I'm being judged for vaping...by fellow vapers.

keep your chin up, buddy, and vape how you want to vape. Who has enough free time to spend it judging you?

Update: Bought two pairs of magnets. Installed and the device is working flawlessly now!

Disclaimer: Cherry Bombers have VERY cheap springs!

For future reference, I always check/replace stock springs on any mod I plan on using with builds below .4ohms.
Especially clones.
It's not just the CB that will melt springs when you are building .07 coils.

Not sure where you got .07, but my build was .13. Either way, I will keep that in mind. I wasn't aware that it was such a common problem with the CB.

It was a general reference to Froth's comment.

Weak springs.
It's a common problem with a lot of mods, especially clones.

Springs do carry somewhat of a load in many designs, and can fail when pulling serious amperage.

It's not that noticeable when you rock higher builds, but when you start building lower the cheapo springs just can't handle it.

Harbor freight has assorted springs in a box for about $5. I've replaced a few using HF springs and they work fine now too.
