I want to clear the air about this mod! I had a lot of trouble getting it set up properly, but now that i do (after quite a bit of tinkering) it works amazingly well and fires every single time flawlessly.
The first thing i had to do was replace the spring in the firing button. I purchased a knock off version so maybe thats why the spring was so crappy. I replaced it with magnets and its a great feel. I hear a lot of issues with the button not working every time you press it because the lock is annoying. MY FIX: I hold the mod with my right hand and wrap my pointer finger around the squeeze the button much like you would a trigger on a pistol. From this angle it prevents the button from twisting in the direction to lock it, ensuring a good fire every time.
The second thing i noticed was it wasnt firing properly. As mentioned above the grip was a significant help, but what really did it was as followed: TIGHTEN THE SCREWS FOR THE BATTERY, BUT DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN THEM. I have them just tight enough so that the batteries are difficult to spin inside the mod. This makes sure the connection is snug and significantly reduces the chances of a loss of battery connection. I think this is the most important part to be quite honest. Im sure a lot of people leave the screws loose enough for the batteries to spin easily and i think that is too loose.
With those changes my device is working incredibly well. It has not misfired since.
I hope this helps some others who have been having problems with this mod!
