I like my Chobras a lot. I own 4 and have 3 currently in rotation. I have 2 of the AGA-Ts, 5 of the Chids & 1 AGA. 3 of the Chids are in rotation, as are the 1 AGA & 1 of the AGA-Ts (the other I'm going to de-knurl first).

I think the Chids & Chobras are equally easy to set up & get vaping on. The AGA/-T are a bit more difficult given placement of the wick hole related to the distance from the ground screw & center post. Easier to wrap, but you have to watch for hot legs. They are also much heavier, so you'll want to mount them on a stout mod.

EDIT: Sorry, I don't where to source them currently. I bought them in a co-op.

And I really like that bliss but $100 and up is ......ed for these things, its all flash.
I'm going to have to disagree with you there. My first genesis was a $25 DUD from Discount Vapers. While it worked well, it was very cheaply made out of questionable materials. My Cobra not only performs better (regardless of what people say, not all genesis' perform exactly the same...) but it is made of Titanium and Pyrex. I know that my health won't be in danger because the shoddy, possibly unsafe metals won't eventually leak through the chrome plating into my juice or lungs. I don't really care about "flash" as i'm the only vaper that ever sees it and any vape gear that's not a cig-a-like looks equally bizarre to non vapers.

On the other hand, I would STRONGLY suggest a cheap chinese made genesis for your first, as they take practice and aren't for everybody. I never would have bought the Cobra off the bat without my $25 DUD first. Juice tastes FAR better out of pyrex than any plastic tank as well. So sorry, for a lot of things like the Zenesis IMO, they're way over hyped, especially after Ninja's review showed me how shoddy they are out of the box. I almost bought a Zenesis standard at VaperCon too. At the last second I thought it just wasn't worth it and i'm glad I didn't get it. I do NOT feel that way about my Provari, Cobra, DID, GGTB, etc.

I'm beginning to think there must be two manufacturers- or at least two versions- of the Chobra, because the one I had was made of 100% yellow mystery metal- no steel at all. At least the others are partially/fully steel. And all of the machining- ALL of the threads, parts, etc- were absolutely disgusting compared to the DUD, AGA, phoenix, A-7, and V3. It even required modding to work correctly- an o-ring wasn't enough, as it was with the others...

Am I missing something? if one of you guys has a Chobra that works really well for you, could you describe to me what separates it from the DUD or AGA, what makes it better? I'm really curious now.

Why yes, yes I did...

They weren't by chance a preproduction version, were they? because in that case I would want the retail version to compare the two.
I doubt they were preproduction because we got them after other retailers started carrying them. I like the quality of these Chobras compared to the Chids.

I like the way they vape, for sure- in fact, I'm using one right now. But I'll agree to disagree on the overall quality- they just need to be refined a bit.

The biggest test for me, with any device- whether it be a high-end hybrid or a cheap chinese knockoff atty- is whether or not it works as described, out of the box, with no modification; If it can do that, there's a much better chance that it is going to score higher in my book. Fiddlyness is the bane of the Vape scene. If it's a DIY kit or something, that's different. But once I start having to break out the orbital sander or a power drill on a pre-assembled device- genesis or otherwise- it becomes fiddly.

I'll be the first to admit the fit, finish & materials quality of the RBAs isn't great. It certainly isn't up to hand built, or even standard expectations for automotive parts quality. But...

The only fiddling I did was swap some caps around to get the best hole to wick match I could get. On the rest, the only thing I had to do was slide the tank up a smidge & then tighten the cap until the hole/wick aligned. On the tanks I had to do that to, I can barely catch the 'gap' with my fingernail.

Also, I think the bottom isolator is better on the Chobra than the Chid. I've had to fiddle with the center post on my Chids more than once to push them back down, but never on the Chobra. They seem to stay put batter.

Maybe I got lucky?

Yup. Teh two extra isolators really help to hold the center post in place.

If you buy more than one of them, you can sometimes swap top caps to save yourself from any sanding or fiddlyness. Even with that fix, though, the tank is a bit too tall on the chobra, and the o-ring doesn't really catch the top cap at all without shortening the tank just a bit- but, hey, it still seems to seal just fine anyway, so I never mentioned it when I reviewed the Chobra.

I'm just saying that for first-timers, there may be a better route to go with; they all have faults, but some seem easier to fix than others!

BTW, still vaping on the Chobra...but about to switch out now after a half-tanks worth of banana- seems like the plastic holds up well under the stress of tank-cracking juices...but don't take my word for it and blame me if something happens to yours. ;)
