I have to get some machining issues worked out first , they dont like to read drawings for some reason ??

If they don't read and thoroughly understand good drawings, they're not real machinists.

I've had so-called "toolmakers" disregard dimensions and surface finish requirements; it's infuriating, time consuming and expensive.

Ya well I sent them a sample and they used that and did not check the drawings I guess ??

I use cape cod cleaning cloths to polish up all my mods shiny bits, they bring them up to a mirror finish that holds the shine without dulling for a long time

I got some bead blasted tests done it looks good to me but probably not for everyone IMO ?
I dont like to polish my tube all the time !!!!

A Plain tube might be cool. Then you could put the finish you wanted on it.

probably the minority, but i have been anti-chrome for quite a few years.

black is the new chrome

Nah, black is too easy to misplace I was forever misplacing my Ego even when it was right in front of me, never happens with my gold Buzz and chrome or polished ally would be even better lol.
