I ordered my chuck almost a week ago and was planning on just using cartomizers on it.

I got the 901 chuck because I noticed that my kr808d-1 has no problem fitting to a 901 atty, so I figured my cartomizers would easily screw right on to my 901 chuck.

Am I wrong here? What mods would I have to do to make this work?

Your 808 cartos will fit the threading of a 901 chuck. The issue is with the airflow.
There are 2 options...
If you feel comfortable taking a dremel to your chuck, you can put a groove in the batt connector like the one in the third picture of post#2. If you only want to use 808's and not greencig cartos, you only need to groove the thread ring, not the center post. (the 808 cartos already have a slot on their center post for airflow).
If you are not comforatble with this, you can buy a 901-to-808 adapter from Vaporcountry (i think there other places to get also). This will allow you to use 808's and greencig's.

*** I should mention. For anyone planning on groove modding your 901 chuck. I am not sure how this will affect your warranty. I'm sur the warrantee will still apply to the body and switch but this may void warranty on the connector***

Also as I (and ghetto-cowgirl) stated earlier, start very small and increase depth slowly and test until you get the flow you want.

Thanks highping. If you know anyone looking for the adapter, let me know. I have no problem with a donation if I can't get altsmoke to swap it out for the correct one. I looked at the KR808 you recommended and they had "KR808d" will that work or am I ok with the one I ordered.
Yes, the '510 batt to KR808 cartomizer' is what you want. This will work on 808's and 901's

Found these bats and charger on ebay,(4x CR123A 3v 3 v 3.0 Rechargeable Battery+CHARGER CR123 on eBay (end time 07-Dec-09 14:19:00 GMT)) for really cheap, they are 6.50 Euros which is around 10$ I believe. The only problem is they are unprotected I think. Would you guys recommend them? Was wanting them for 6 v on Chuck, and is there anything to do to make sure unprotected bats don't blow up or anything?(I'm new to mods)

You thinking about using them for 6v vaping on the regular Chuck? They are 3v, so wouldn't work for the Little Chuck.

Also, they are unprotected. I'd avoid using them when you can get protected 3.7v ones. Don't risk having these batteries explode in your face if you don't have to.

Some pix of the adapter I got for my Little Chuck to use cartomizers on it. Thanks to DaMulta for the tip and the review (says the airflow is great).

Don't know if the holes actually do anything...they look blocked by something inside the body of the adapter:

A little size comparison:

Will post pix of it in play on the Little Chuck...WHEN IT GETS HERE!!! (It's made and supposedly on its way...can you tell I'm a little anxious to get it???)

Here's a link to the order page: AltSmoke | Personal Vaporizer 510 (Yeti) Battery Adapter - Adapters - PV Parts
To order this adapter, take notice if the pulldown menu on the right hand side where you choose what you're trying to connect to.

Nice pics arkangel... That third one is a great shot.
The holes on the side are what you actually need for 808. You don't really need the channel in the center post, as the 808 carto already has this.
The channel in the middle will allow you to use greencig cartos. (They don't have a channel on the carto center post.)

But for all interested, the adapter arkangel posted will allow you to use 901, KR808D, and Greencig on a 510 chuck.

ok,ok i know i'm the odd man out,you may have picked up on saturday thread that my soon to be in the mail hecknaw chuck is only one of two chucks made with the 401 connector!i know the 510 is by far the most popular connection out there!but ya see i have far to many 401 attys not to try to use them!(and i like'm fine) what i really wanted was to go with 510 connection and go with a 401 adpter(of witch i could not find anywhere)do ya'll see any problems with the use of 401?maybe have to go with 510 on next chuck.

If you are happy with the 401 atty's Hecknaw I don't see why you would have a problem with you're Chuck.
i am inclined to agree with ya,however i was a think'n there was just another reason maybe why 510's were so much more popular than 401's.it may be that many or most 510 user's bought them because they were manuels and not auto's. and could be dripped&dipped without leakage into batteries!and thats maybe the reason why so many were sold!

I think all Chuck's, no matter the atty connector, are sealed so they won't leak into the battery. Someone else will have to confirm this, though.

I think I can confirm this. When Jeff connects the center post of the connector, it gets sealed off with the solder. On my 510 chucks, from the top it looks like the hole is open, but if I take off the head cap I can see that it is completely sealed on the bottom side.

So.... I'm completely confused on the adapters - I'm going to order the 510 Chuck. At Altsmoke I am going to order the 510 to 901, 510 to 801 and 510 to Kr808/Greencig (no drilling on Chuck for me) Is that correct? I need all three of the adapters for 901, 801, and cartos?:confused:

PLEASE just say yes or no LOL - No explanations needed, I'm totally confused as it is. LOL
