Cigalike

Hi all,
It's been a long time since I have posted here. I have been vaping for many years now and I love it. I have several different devices. My favorite is mt Smok G-Priv. But I usually only vape that at home. My favorite vape while out and about is a cigalike. I have tried many over the years including the Blu and the Mark Ten. My favorite is the Blu. The only problem with those is the damn PCC always breaks after a month or so. So for the last year I have been vaping on a MArk Ten for the most part.

My problem with these devices is that the state of California hit us with a huge tax that has increased the cost of the refill cartridges substantially. When I started using the Mark Ten, the refills were 5-6 bucks a box. That's a lot more than it costs me for a bottle of juice, but for me it was worth it. The only problem is that now with the wonderful new tax the price is now 14-16 bucks per box. I really can't see paying that much anymore. But I guess those who created the new tax law and those who voted for it know much much more about the subject than us vapers who use the products. They are only looking out for our well being as well as blaming us for their rising health insurance costs. (The last two sentences was nothing more than sarcasm on my part. We all know that those who create and vote for taxes like the one on tobacco products are nothing more than a bunch of idiots that need a minority group to kick because they are incapable of understanding what true rights are.) But I digress.

My real question is. What do you all use when you prefer to use a cigalike? Any and all suggestions are welcome.

My Sweetheart is the reason I vape and quit smoking using the Cig-A-Likes also. I went from the eC-gs Brand to the Logic and the Mark Ten XL's. I was refilling the cartridges a few times before they were shot but eventually went to an iStick TC40W and a Nautilus Mini tank but she stayed with the Logics until they went up in price by cutting the 5 pack to 3. So I got her using the MyJet Pods and they were great until the price tripled also! Then I got her using the JAC Vapour S17 and she never looked back. It is now a top fill~!

I'm not even sure of the brand but it cost 5.99 at the Gas Station up the street and last a day and half, I use those sometimes when I'm in a bind.

The pcc problem is likely microUSB2 related. I would suggest getting a magnetic usb cable from FT and leaving the adaptor inside the pcc. This reduces the insertion count and may increase device life.
As far as cigalikes go the best one I know of is the oval emini which used to be called the joy tech eroll. You can refill the cartridges with regular juice and it’s 3.7v rather than the Blu’s 2.2v. Last I looked a kit from the oval site went for $35.

If you know anyone in Europe willing to send you packages the ovale emini duo is the new version which is for unknown reasons not available in the USA. It’s supposed to be really good but fairly expensive

Ultimately, I would like to find a device similar to the Blu that is reliable.

The picture is actually bigger then the device. It is a 17MM diameter but only about 4 inches tall.

I actually have a battery for it here because it went bad and JAC Vapour warrantied it and I compared it to the picture on my monitor so about half the size. $25 for it with the tank and coils are not expensive but they are a UK company so shipping is about $12

My "stealth" rig is a Cora from Vape Dynamics.

Pods are 1ml and refillable, allowing you to use your favorite e-liquid. Fits nicely in my pocket as well.

I use 45mg e-liquid in it while I'm at work. Works perfectly and keeps the cravings at bay, even when sneaking into the can for a quick fix.

I started using the Mark Ten XL's because a guy at a 7-11 gave me one when I was snow plowing his lot and he gave me the coupons so how could I resist? Then I called Altria and they started sending them and still are!

The emini may work for you then. The other thing you may want to look at is a PEAS. It’s a pod mod rather than a cigalike but it smokes about the same and is also refillable. Plus it’s super cheap.

But...
I gotta rant for a minute.

Who the hell passes these unwanted and unwarranted tax laws anyway. The taxes on tobacco products and tobacco related products is ridiculous. I just tired to buy a few things online and once I entered my mailing address the wonderful state of cali excise tax got added on. So I gotta ask. What idiot creates these types of laws and what idiots actually vote for them? Is suppose those who made the laws and those who voted for them will just say something like "We are just protecting you from the evils that lurk out there." To which I say "BULL....!" Keep your nose out of my business and I promise I'll keep mine out of yours. Hell, if someone wants to jump off a 50 story building. I say go right ahead. I wont stop you. I promise. And if I want to do something that is harmless to me, I'll do it. I don't need someone else telling me what is good for me and what is bad for me. Especially by way of an additional tax. And by the way. I was trying to make a $12.99 purchase and the tax was $20.19. All I can say is WTF? It kinda makes me want to find the lawmakers and force them to jump off that 50 story building. Hahahaha just kidding. Kind of.

OK, sorry for the rant. I'm just a stupid old Libertarian. So what do I know about anything. Liberals call us right wing wacko's. And conservatives call us pot smoking idiots. I guess if you belong to a political party that is into free speech and the right to do whatever you choose as long as you don't impede on others rights to do as they choose, you are in the wrong party. I guess to Democrats and Republicans, if you give the public too much freedom. You have lost control of the country. And now we have this idiot president who's campaign platform was "Make America great again." I call BULL.... on that too. Don't get me wrong. I still think this country is the greatest country out there. But when you start to control the public, it's not quite as great as you might think. At this point in time, I will never vote for any lawmakers currently in power. It just won't happen. ever. Way back in my cigalike days I used Smokeless Image and Halo. Both have PCCs I think (at least SI did). Refillable cartomizers. I never used the PCC...just took 2-3 more setups in an eyeglass case that was about the same size. In todays world I would use an Ego One or T18.

I guess no one still uses 510 based cig-a-likes and refillable cartos? That was what I originally used. Actually I used GreenSmartLiving | Starter Kits | and at first I refilled their cartos then found I could buy empty Boge cartos and fill those. Are cartos even still available?

Probably. Someone made a machine to make them, so until the machine breaks down there will probably be some poor chattel slave laborer cranking them out in china for pennies a day.
