I just purchase my first e-cig on Cignot and Vicki was so incredibly helpful. My goal is to quit cigarettes and then eventually weed myself off nicotine altogether. I work at a bar so it's very hard, and I've had problems with the withdrawal symptoms of nicotine before while I worked.

I've tried the patch (made me sick), was denied Chantix by my doctor, anti-depressants, cold turkey, etc... and nothing has worked (in fact, it just prevented me from getting new health insurance). My workouts are suffering and I feel like crap every time I smoke a regular cigarette. I ordered from cignot and Vicki shipped out my order for next day delivery (even though it's not an option on her site) within 20 minutes. Excellent customer service.

I'm hoping the vaper will help me control my nicotine intake better than the patch did and allow me to weed myself off of it entirely eventually.

Welcome! You are so right that Vicky and Cignot are awesome! I'm glad you were able to hook up with them. I wish you the very best on quitting. I was able to quit with their help as well, something I had completely given up on.

You've come to the right place..the people at ECF are awesome!!

The 510. It seemed like the model everyone was recommending for someone who was new. It is my every intention to quit. Every time I have attempted to quit I always cheated before I really kicked the addiction (while drinking), so the cigarette smell and taste still appealed to me. I got so sick off the patch they had to send me home from work.

I'm very health conscience when it comes to food, and I work out 4-5 times a week. But this little cigarette addiction is my flaw. I know e-cigs have nicotine and in the end you're still "smoking", but it's nothing compared to a cigarette. So if it helps save my life in that regard I'm all for it.

Welcome Stixm,
The 510 is an excellent e-cig. Those workouts are going to get easier and no, you won't be smoking. You'll be vaping. No smoke. No stink. No burning. Eventually you can begin weaning yourself off nicotine if that's your goal.
We tried the patch, the Chantix (ugh!) and cold turkey. This is the only thing that worked and it's worked for nearly one year now.

But, remember, even if you don't stop smoking RIGHT AWAY, don't get down on yourself!!

Also loved your "accidental quitters" label because it's so true!

Welcome to ecf Stixm! Go at your own pace and don't sweat over the cigs that you smoke, but celebrate all the ones you don't. If you feel like lighting one up, go ahead but without guilt. Just stay the course and keep vaping...control WILL shift to you.

Hi guys,

I'm not allowed to post in other forums yet, so I guess I'll ask the question here if anyone knows the answer. I'm using the basic 510 kit with the 5 carts and sample liquid that vicki gave me. But the atomizer gets very very hot after one puff. Is there something I'm doing wrong or is this normal? I blew out the primer and dropped some liquid into it and then put the pre-filled cart on. I'm pretty sure I got the initial primer taste out but am not exactly sure as I've never smoked one of these before.

It's a manual and I only pushed it for two seconds. The cartridge material kind of gets stuck in the atomizer if I pull it out. Is that the problem? Am i supposed to pour more liquid into the pre-filled cartridges? Or is the liquid just for the empty cartridge that came with the 510?

Sounds like you may be a little dry. Drip a couple drops directly on the atty bridge and see if that helps.
Try to get the poly fill in the cart up a little farther so it isnt sticking on the atty bridge, but not so far up that it doesnt wick onto the bridge part. The filler if wet enough should look like a slushy/slurpee

Yes you can refill the carts that are prefilled.

510 attys' run hot. "Dropped some" can be critical in that to much will cause floodinng( you get a gurgling sound ( blow out the excess into a tissue) to little you can burn out the atty (not good). Typically 2 or 3 drops onto a new ( primer cleaned ) atty brdige. To know you cleaned out the primer and loaded it with enough juice = should get vapor and the taste is the flavor of the juice. Hopefully you got a menthol flavor , that way there should not be any mistake of what you ingested / vaped. Hope this helps.

Should I drip juice onto the atty each time I refill the cartridge? I dropped two drops into the atty and didn't blow any out. The cartridge doesn't seem that wet at all (just a bit), so maybe I accidentally let some of the liquid out when I was inserting it.

I think that will be a learning curve answer. Sometime you need to direct drip and sometimes you don't . If the filler was really dry you may have to direct drip. Otherwise to much direct dripping can cause flooding like the OP mentioned.
Is it still hot?
