I have no way to explain why the very first premade clapton coil I used on my tfv4 mini did not have this problem. I sit and prime a coil for about 10-15 minutes, (letting it soak, dry, and resoak.) I then even usually let it sit for another 10 minutes once I fill the tank for further soaking. Take a few dry hits and then fire. Usually can only take 2-3 back to back hits before my lips begin to feel burnt, (with bottom AF wide open). I guess its possible that my tolerance for nicotine has gone up because I love the taste of the juice so much that I fire more frequently and less intermittently than before. It still seems like it is getting HOTTER quicker. any ideas?

I got the TFV4 mini the first of this month and have been using the TF-CLP2 coil since. I have not had any issues with it being too hot, so not sure what to say or suggest. Sounds like you are priming it well and not getting any burnt taste, so all should be good there. It may help if you mention what mod you are running it on as well.

I will mention a couple differences in how I use mine whether it contributes to your problem or not. I run mine on either a Sig 100+ or Lavabox DNA200. If I remember correctly, I never ran it at the low wattage you are, even at break in. I usually have the bottom AF at 1/2 to 3/4 open and DT open just a peak. Depending on mod and juice used, I am typically hitting it at around 75 - 82 watts and it is coming up on 4 weeks and seems to be still going strong. But I don't believe I have hit it successively for several hits in just a couple minutes, more like back to back hits in a minute or two on rare occasions.

Only other thing that might make a difference is your juice (NOTE: I said might :)). It is probably a stretch, but try a couple different flavors if you haven't already. Maybe with different PG/VG rations or nic levels or even a different brand. That and depending on the age of your coil, trying a new one. From the different coils I have tried in the TFV4 so far, this one is probably my favorite.

Lastly, I am assuming the hotter you are talking about is the drip tip and hit you take, not the hot of the base of the tank to touch (guess I should have just asked that first, huh? :)). One vaper's hot may be another's warm and vice versa. My post may not be of much help, but at the least gives your post a bump and somebody with more/better info may come along. Good luck.
