theoretically gives more vapor in turn means better flavor and more cloudz. I've only used prebuilt 32/26 kanthal claptons and honestly I find them on par to single strand 24gauge
Ok Thank you, all my rolls of wire are 24g Kanthal to begin so maybe I'll order a small pack of Claptons just to try out :)

I see every wrap of the thinner outer as a juice channel to produce vapor. I like the 26/30 claptons, yes there is some ramp up time with claptons but after you get a technique on how to vape them the clapton is a nice coil. I also don't like making them into microcoils, just a slightly spaced coil wicked with rayon and it hits great in my TFV4.

I find that they require more power than a equivalent "plain" wire build, but do have a place.

This is being discussed on other forums too, lol.

My last 2 cents I leave before this turns into a huge debacle of efficiency ;)

I love my orchids and I love unregulated devices more, with .6 28g kanthal build it was/is perfect for me. But I've found recently, in a single coil tank with a .8 clapton using 28g core kanthal, I get a slightly better vape as far as it being "smooth" and slightly more vapor than my .6 dual coil build. Also with it being .8 rather than .6, I get better battery runtime between charges on my mech/unregulated.

It has a place, and can be "efficient" if you think outside the box. But again, everyone's "tastes" are different :/

It's really not as simple as "Are claptons good?" because not all claptons are created equal. Most people's clapton experience are still limited to the standard single core claptons with a larger (30/32ga) wrap wire. Fused claptons, or even framed claptons, with a smaller gauge wrap wire (36ga and lighter) will deliver a superior vape with faster ramp up times when compared to a traditional clapton.

So Fused Claptons would be the ones to try?

Looking at Clapton wire to buy online, would it be something like .26g wrapped in ??? Just not sure how this works....
