I would like to know if anyone has tried using Clapton styled wires in their genesis atomizers (with stainless steal mesh wick) and whether or not the result was satisfactory. I have a theory that the external wire of the Clapton coil would carry less currant than the core wire reducing conductivity errors and possibly obsoleting the oxidization process commonly practiced amongst users of genesis styled atomizers. Any input may be helpful, thank you.

I have never tried it-- in fact, I don't own a genny-- but I think a) clapton wire could be used in such and atomizer if you can get the resistance right, and b) nothing will obviate the oxidation process to stop the mesh from "stealing" conductivity from the wire. a more interesting question, to me, is how Stainless wire would work in a genny with a mesh wick.

I am a member of a fb group for builders. I posted on there about my dual-coiled Bliss.
Another member had a Reactor, that he did a dual-coil, 50g over 32g kanthal. I think it was 6 wraps on each wick. I enlarged his pic, and could not even see the 'claptoning', 50g is so damn small.
It did not appear to me that clapton wire behaved any different, wrt setting it up. coils were set up, his wicks looked torched/fully oxidised. I don't think that the type of wire used--round, ribbon, clapton, etc. matters. Once oxidised--the mesh becomes inert.
Now how did they vape and taste? I don't know, i've only used round and ribbon kan on my collection of a bazillion gennys, lol.

The mesh is going to oxidise. Whether it is pre-torched or pulsed. Then it becomes inert.
I only use gennys. Haven't done tc. one of the reasons is that with some of the tc wires--i understand that you cannot dry-fire them, or you have to be really careful about wat temp that they get (nickel or Ti).

Try Stainless then. It can be dry fired. It has the additional benefit of being usable in either wattage or TC mode. Query: are any of you genny guys subohming them? I really know nothing about them, as you can see.

My Bliss is coiled to 0.6Ω. I've run the Kraken at 0.5. But I run everything on mech mods with 18650, or Tesla Sub Box--2 18650, unregulated. My singles are above 1.0Ω.
But the tc part of the equation is something that i have no experience in.
Curious--is it possible to use Ss wire in a mech mod, or would i have to get a tc mod? TIA
Edit:i think i found my answer on another thread :D

SS can be used in wattage mode, but it is pretty low resistance wire, and I've never seen any smaller than 28ga. Might be hard to fit a coil on something that would give you safe resistance. I am a mekkie too, but I haven't tried it. Perhaps I shall break out one of the Lemos and have a smack at it. It would be easier to get there with a single coil.
