I just built my first functional and good looking clapton. 2 26g n80 as core wrapped with 36g n80. 6 wrap Dual coil coming in at .15 i just had to share im so happy
That doesnt look like a true staple. The wire that is used to staple should be between you original clapton wire. Now ya gotta build one of these!![]()
Stapled clapton (too big to fit in my post holes lol
Just drill out the post holes a bit, if you feel comfortable.
And staple wire is usually ribbon wire stapled by round wire. That doesnt look like a true staple. The wire that is used to staple should be between you original clapton wire.
What i see is a fused clapton using 2 clapton wires as the core
Tried my first Clapton today and found it pretty easy. Drill died just as I got my rhythm going so had to run to the garage and grab and new battery.
Used what I had at hand; 26ga and 30ga kanthal.
Went to put them on my Tohb to find out my positive post hole was too small so cheated and turned it into a single coil by plugging the air holes on one side with cotton.
Flavour was awesome....can't wait to try it on my Marquis now!!
I was pleasantly surprised given that I ended up with a single coil firing at 1.0ohms rather than the .3-.4 I was expecting.Glad to hear it. I've personally not gotten any better flavor than clapton coils. The flavor is super on point even in my atomizers that taste muted all the time. Tips for newbies I would say just bend one side of the wire and place that into the one of the gaps if you're using super small wire. I've been making decently small claptons because I didn't really understand the resistances of wires, but it made me get real good at twisting claptons. I was doing 30 gauge wrapped with 38 gauge trying to get resistances right.
Sounds more like a fused Clapton to me..I just built my first functional and good looking clapton. 2 26g n80 as core wrapped with 36g n80. 6 wrap Dual coil coming in at .15 i just had to share im so happy
