Seriously. $500 for a $250 mod????

"Never used, Never been Vaped!!!"

Question: Why the heck did you buy it if you didn't plan on using it?!?

Answer: Because I was planning on selling it to make a huge profit.

NO, the only one who should make a profit on mods is the guys who make them, not the kid with lightening fast internet connection who managed to snag one.

There are people out there who really want these Mods and plan on using them for a long time. These folks should be the ones who get to receive them.

I get trading for something a little out of your price range, or trading for something no longer made, but thats because the value is in the eye of the beholder. A trade works because both parties are happy in the end.

Selling for a HUGE mark up is just taking people for suckers, and making them take a huge financial flop.

Come on people, if you don't plan on vaping it for a long time, dont buy it!!!

Certainly does leave room for abuse in the future as well

What's to stop from someone creating an "exclusive" mod and inflating production run numbers?

Tell the public you are releasing 70 units .. sell only 20 and have your business partners slowly pump the other 50 in the after market at twice the cost.

In the end ... there's a lot of considerate and giving people in the community. But you'll always have people doing the opposite for the sake of cash.

well just an FYI the classifieds have a no profiteering report to fill out on people like this.
If the mod is still in production they should be listing it for no more then 20% markup. so they are breaking the rules, and others are letting them.
for out of production models collection status is fair game.

Well its always the LE ones that get marked up to the extreme, and unfortunately these are the ones that are exceptions to the rule.

No worries ... others will soon supply the demand. I'm not going to "F5" (beg) vendors to take $250 of my money only to get the old SOLD OUT in my face ... not worth it.

Especially since I can get an identical vaping experience for much less. I know its frustrating right now but within a year this whole "F5" game will be an endangered species.

Just stick it out and eventually you'll be happy you did. Just don't support the "for profit" buyers and they will eventually go away.

Honestly though ... I'm tired of vendors bragging about all the money they are putting into their business only to see production stay the same. They are just pushing themselves farther into a niche market anyways. Others will pick up their slack and take most of the market share.

So...the seller of the LE (Limited Edition) is doing nothing wrong as far as the classifieds rules go...

To prevent price gouging there is a max 20% mark up on items that are still available.

Thread makes no sense.

I don't think the op was claiming they are breaking rules. I believe they were speaking more towards the lack of consideration some show for the sake of making a profit.

Its not to be unexpected, but this community is often known for its generosity. You see people giving out kits, mods, and juices all the time. You then start getting the sense that EVERYONE thinks about the greater good and helping other vapers. People then come across a black sheep who is obviously attempting to profit from the community and it turns some people off.

I understand where the op is coming from. But vaping or not ... people are people. Being a vaper doesn't automatically make someone a saint. There's aways going to be those who only look out for themselves and could care less about the needs and wants of others.

It's all about supply and demand. These LE mods are a luxury. You can still vape with a regular mod at a bargain price. These mods are collectibles. If you really want one then you have to pay the market price.

I just wish "market price" was a little closer to retail price. haha.

Don't get me wrong, I have a ton of Luxery mods and I went through all the hoops to get them.

I just wish people wouldn't take advantage of the system to pick them up and turn around instantly to sell them for their own profit.

Welcome to the human condition. I've given up on the race as a whole a long time ago.
You're givin me chills over here talking like that. Hate to break it to ya, but you're human too. Nobody's perfect. I'm not trying to justify the evils of man here, but I implore you to have a heart for your own sake. So long as a person is alive, they still have the power to change. We can and have for all of existence. Sometimes, I wonder if all that we're here to do is learn and grow - both as individuals and as a collective entity. Until the last human being left breathes their last breath, all of humanity will forever be a work in progress.

You could say, "If that's true, then why bother?" I say, "Because it makes things interesting." Life itself is as beautiful as it is ugly and that is what really makes it worth living. It's all a matter of how you choose to see things. The human condition is a curious state of being, isn't it?

And we're not all profiteers, you know... ...a lot of other people find the sort of behavior described in this thread incorrigible and absolutely do not approve. What of them? I think that here of all places, profiteers will not prevail. They may make a little scratch here and there and that is unfortunate, but most people are not going to pay mark up for a second-hand item they can wait to get elsewhere. And those who do obviously aren't doing so at any dire expense. They do choose to pay that price, after all.

People will always try to take advantage of each other, but that doesn't mean they always get away with it. This problem in particular is one that can be remedied. It's not the end of the world, you know?
