Vapes and E-Cigarettes | Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives

Any person or business that sells, transfers or ships for profit any ENDS in interstate commerce must now register with ATF according to 15 U.S.C. §§ 375 and 376. They must also register with any states that they ship vapes into.

Vape Shipping and the PACT Act: What We Know So Far

The existing USPS rules do contain an exception that allows private individuals to mail up to 10 small (under 10 ounces) packages per month containing cigarettes or smokeless tobacco to other private individuals or to businesses. Presumably this exception will be extended to vaping products. The exception is intended for gifts or for returning defective products to a manufacturer. There are specific rules private senders must follow.

EDIT: Just pointing out why some folks may be apprehensive regarding shipping... Personally, I still buy / sell on the classies regardless.. ;)

Yeah, we all are aware of the dreaded postal bans and the havoc it has played on the vaping community. It has it's own thread,

US Vape Mail Ban - USPS/FedEx/UPS/DHL

As far as the classifieds, there are rules in play for that too, but I know of nobody that follows them by declaring their packages with the usps as vape goods.

Yes, that's why I included this quote above:

I think the overall forums activity rate has significantly decreased at least from this time last year so it would only make sense that the classified would also slow down but yeah I've noticed the same thing.

As far as buying right now I go to the classified first. Even if there is a store online that has the item I am 10 times more likely to buy it from a person. It's less hassle and I trust the shipping more from a person even if they were to use a different shipper. Also I get excited whenever I need is on a Chinese site if it's not on the classifieds rather than on a state side site where I know I'm going to have to deal with alternative shipping that is substandard. I know that they're going for the lowest rates but they really are picking companies with terrible reputations. There are other shippers that are more trustworthy I've had good experiences with blue streak

Yes yes we know we know . It's not stopping anyone though. Also as a private individual (non business), I'm allowed to ship 10 items per year and they are allowed to receive.

You are allowed to ship 10 packages (not items) per 30-days (not per year) but each package can be no more than 10 oz and has to be shipped via express (which the only express I know of is priority express) with adult 21+ signature (about $7) with tobacco warning on the package.

All this will cost you about $25-30 per package. lol

The biggest problem with the ATF statement is the bold and underlined parts.

Any person or business that sells, transfers or ships for profit any ENDS in interstate commerce must now register with ATF according to 15 U.S.C. §§ 375 and 376

It includes individuals (person) and "for profit". I guess you better have all your receipts and make sure you are selling everything at break-even or at a loss. lol

Yet as far as I understand the USPS DMM for shipping tobacco products, "persons" are exempt from this. But I guess the ATF has different ideas? Bu thte problem with the DMM (last I checked) it was never updated for ENDS. What is written applies to cigarettes and smokeless tobacco products. 10oz is actually reasonable for these items, but not so much for vape items.

Reddit no longer has a vape classifieds? That was a great source of used vape hardware for quite awhile.

They banned all the vaping classifieds except for the lesser-known ones that no one uses as well as many (but not all) vape subs geared toward a specific brand of vape products. The vape subs that were left to exist had to convert to NSFW status. From what I can gather this has to do with PACT Act and the fact they are going public with an IPO this year, so they are cleaning things up. However, there are at least 3 subs geared toward talking about using and acquiring illicit drugs that they left alone. I've been trying to push people here since it's a private site and therefore relatively safe for BST, but redditors love reddit and they will bi+ch until the cows come home before they admit that sites like reddit and other social media are not vape friendly and will leave them out in the cold eventually. THey will deny it even though they were just slapped in the face with that reality lol. SMH.

The mods of ECC have created a Discord server, but not a lot of people are using it. TBH, the discord/chat format sucks for BST.
