I wish ECF had a separate verification process for a verified BUYER only. I don't keep any credit cards/banking accounts on file w/PayPal, EBay or what have you. I buy through PayPal but submit my credit card each time versus having my info sitting in cyber space so I can't get verified.

It seems getting verified is mainly a purpose for a seller not a buyer, IMO.

I don't think that stops you being verified. (I'm fairly sure I don't have my CC details stored). I'll check if you ask, but it'd be unusual of me to do that, like you, I prefer not to have my CC details stored on pay sites, or *anywhere* for that matter.

When I went to the PayPal verified section, it stated to get a credit card through PayPal (um, no thanks) or put your banking info through PayPal (um, def no thanks). So unless I'm missing something, that's what I mean as far as having my info held in cyber space w/PayPal.

I've used PayPal for five yrs and never had their credit card or my bank info stored with them. But I guess for ECF classies, this is the only way to get verified thru PayPal or I'm completely confused.

Paypal is one of the most secure outfits on the planet. My bank card thru my bank has been hacked though.

The point is nothing is 100% secure, even HAVING a credit card, if you never use it online, you can be hacked.

OK, I'm with yer know. Yep, you have to have credit in there to do transactions of the old days. Now, it's just a CC thing via VISA. I haven't used the old way for many, many years, but have obviously done so, some time ago. I think my balance is zero... so that in the pre Paypal/VISA days, you'd put enough money in for a transaction, and then once done, the balance should be zero (somethin' like that).

Pretty sure that's how I got verified on Paypal. It looks like things have changed somewhat.

I've just checked my Paypal account, and I have neither a CC or bank account stored.

So true and your 100% correct!!!!! Our credit cards have tracking on it and will automatically shut off with "suspicious activity". It was fun when i first started vaping and have our credit card guy on speaker phone w/me and my husband going through some charges. "I see a charge to Vapor Chief?" My reply, "That would be Vapor Chef and ya that's me".

Our credit cards are also tied to some nice points systems for trips and stuff and very low interest rates. I just don't see the need to sign up for yet another card when mine are all good. I don't have a card through my bank, don't use an ATM or debit card. Just one MasterCard and American Express.
