Clean Attys... Denture Cleaners??

Hey.

As Im new here, I have to post in the newbie forum, but I have a thought?

Is it possible to clean attys with DENTURE CLEANER??

You know, Two Tabs in a class of water, Bubbles Bubbles Bubbles.

Admins, feel free to move to pertinent thread??

I used to use a Polydent tablet to clean my 801 atomizers, worked great, then rinse them real good and I mean real good.

I think you're onto a good cleaning method for gunked attys. It's talked about on ECF often. I've moved from doing long cleaning rituals to rinsing my attys used each day in hot water before bedtime, blowing out the water and they're ready to go in the morning. It works better for me than using a sonic cleaner, vodka/PGA or hot vinegar baths. I haven't lost an atty since starting the quick daily maintenance. I read about it here and sure am grateful for that advice. Hope you get your gunk gone from your attys

I'm really hoping it will work on tank type attys. Would be nice if it worked on ce2's and the like. Has anybody used it to clean anything but regular drip attys?

I use denture tablets with an Ultrasonic cleaner. Make sure you rince well when done though !!

The price point on cartomizers make them not worth the time trying to clean. CE2s are not only not worth cleaning, they are not worth buying imho.

I use Everclear. Cant go wrong there, unless of course your underage. I let my atomizers soak over night. It seems to break down all the gunk just fine. Its the only thing that i would recommend. I go with the phrase, "If you don't want to swallow it, don't clean with." No rinsing involved!!!

I usually rinse with hot water and then flush with 91% iso. It's a lot cheaper than everclear, and once it's dried out the miniscule amounts of iso remaining aren't going to hurt (your liver can handle tiny volumes of iso). I only clean my atty about once a week.

I think denture cleaner is a good idea but it's too much hassle for me. The upside to using alcohol is it dries quickly and I've heard that water drying on the wick can cause it to stiffen up and wick poorly. I'm cheap and a bit lazy, so use everclear if it's a reasonable option for you!
