Cleaning a drip atomizer?

I'm new to the forum and fairly new to vaping. I've been using a Titan drip atomizer to test new flavors before making big batches. I'm having a problem with carryover flavors in the atty. I tried cleaning with just water. That didn't do the trick. Now I use a syringe to shoot soapy water into the element and then swish it around in a pan of boiling water. This has worked a lot better and I only notice the carryover flavors on light flavored batches. Just wondering if anybody has a tried and true method for cleaning these things out? I'll take any suggestions I can get. Thanks for the help.

Have you tried alcohol? Or dry burning -- depending on how you have it wicked. ( Not a good idea with cotton....lol. ) Some flavors can be very hard to get out and you may want to consider rewicking. If you are trying a bunch of flavors that can get to be a pain, but you will get better flavor testing that way.

O-rings?? Are you removing them? This may be a really minor point but yuk can sometimes hide behind them. Also, some O-rings may not tolerate alcohol well. Again, maybe minor points, but may as well be nice and conservative so you don't have to run out on a Sat. looking for some small part. Especially when it is pouring down rain like it is right now here in lovely FL.... lol.

Side Effects of Inhaling Isopropyl Alcohol | LIVESTRONG.COM

My unit: ego900mah and mini evod 1.8 ohm. Winboro Lights (14mg) Koolport Ice (14mg) Vape on!

Thanks, but I always ensure it's fully evaporated before using. Never had those side effects, and I was sure to check with the Mrs (who's a medical practitioner) who confirmed that as long as there's no liquid alcohol left, it's not a problem. I always dry burn before putting a new wick in, and this also ensures that all traces have evaporated. Just don't be drinking the stuff and it's all good!

Thanks again :thumb:

Thanks for the suggestions everybody. That hit the nail on the head. Just tried out the atty. Didn't detect a trace of any other flavors but what I put in it. I soaked it over night in the isopropyl alcohol. Rinsed it with water and the. Tossed it in a pot of boiling water for a few minutes and let it dry out. I did a dry burn to check for any residual left on the element. That was the first time since buying it that I didn't hear the snap crackle pop of residue on the element. This is awesome. Thought I'd have to drop another $7 on a new atty. Thank you all again for your suggestions. Have a good one!
