Hey everyone.
OK I have seen a lot of postings about cleaning your Clearomizers, Cartomizers, and Atomizers to make them last longer than their projected life time. I have come up with a way to clean these items that actually work if anyone is interested. I got my kit 2 weeks ago tomorrow I do believe (I could be off a day), have yet to change an Atomizer and it still taste fresh...
You will need the following items: Can of compressed air, a pan of boiling hot water but taken off of the burner, hot running water, a clean folded paper towel, small Colander, and a pipe cleaner.
1). Bring pan of water to a hard rolling boil then take off of heat.
2). Start hot running water at faucet.
3). Over the sink unscrew drip tip (mouth piece) from clearomizer tank and rinse under hot water thoroughly.
4). Unscrew Clearomizer Tank from Cartomizer and rinse tank under hot running water thoroughly.
5). Holding Cartomizer at bottom rinse Atomizer head under hot running water. make sure you get all of the juice out of the wick. I usually rinse mine for about one minute.
6). Once the juice is completely out of the wick take Atomizer head off of the Cartomizer and set Atomizer head on folded paper towel.
7). Place Cartomizer in pan of very hot water and let soak for 5 mins.
8). While Cartomizer is soaking place drip tip and clearomizer tube onto folded paper towel along with Atomizer.
9). After 5 mins of soaking pour water in pan with Cartomizer in it into a Calonder unless you are brave enough to stick your hand into the pan to grab that cartomizer then be my guess... Let us know how that works out for you... LMAO...
10). Once Cartomizer has cooled enough to handle, hold it with the bottom facing you and insert the pipe cleaner into that little bitty hole you see. Twist Cartomizer around on the pipe cleaner and rinse under hot tap water.
11). Holding the Cartomizer with the bottom of it facing you once more spray compressed air directly into that little hole.. Flip it over and shoot compressed air into the front hole.
12). Put on paper towel with other pieces and let dry for 24 hrs...
13). I would go back 30 mins later and blow air into the front and back of the cartomizer just in case.
I have a total of 6 Tanks completely put together. I use 3 tanks for 3.5 days, clean them and while they are drying I use the other 3 tanks.
I have watched 2 different you tube vids on "How to clean your equipment". One guy was using a metal wire on the inside of his Cartomizer and Im thinking "Yeah go ahead and continue scratching the inside of that tube". The other guy soaked not only his Cartomizer in Isopropyl Alcohol but his Atomizer as well. Then put them in boiling water and did a boil rinse on them and then immediately cold rinsed them. Number one you will never get the alcohol taste out of the wicks. Might as well just change the Atomizer altogether. Number 2 going from hot to cold that quick with the Cartomizer is gonna compromise the components of the metals that its made out of.
My idea not only cleans it but it sterilizes it as well...
OK... That's it from me for today unless I think of something else. Happy vaping to everyone....
