cleaning a mod?

i have a glv2 and there is built up juice in the atomizer connection and inside where the batteries go have a powdery white dust kind of stuff inside. also the cap that screws on the bottom has lost some of its chromeyness. any tips on how to and how not to try and clean/restore this stuff?

For chrome, Cape Cod Metal Polishing Cloths. I bought mine off eBay. Can be reused.

For your atty connection, rubbing alcohol and Q-tips.

I got mine off ebay too.
And yes you should clean more often.

I know it does get put off, but still...................

its not my fault i swear! i bought it secondhand haha. and thats the condition it came in. i already knew it was a bit worn haha

Wipe off the connections and then apply a VERY THIN coat of Noalox. This will protect the threads and prevent cross threading.

what about inside the tube. is it inadviseable to try and clean where the batteries go?

I just wipe out the inside of the tube with a dry paper towel and do the same when the threads start feeling "gritty" when I'm assembling the mod. I only apply the Noalox to the threads on the battery tube. Don't apply it to the threads on your atties or cartos.

You should have gotten a little allen (sp?) wrench with your GLV. You can use that tool to unscrew and clean out the area just under the V in GLV. There's a little screw thing in there that can get sooty. Clean, reinsert and use the tool to tighten. The new ones I've purchased are 3 and 5 months old haven't needed cleaning except for some Mother's polish on a soft cloth for the exterior of the mod's aluminum area. I've put Nolax on the threads once.

I bought one in the classy section and needed to send it in for a new atty pin replacement. If it was made before March of this year you have the old atty pin. No big deal if it's working ok. The one I bought wouldn't take a 510. Bummer but on the bright side, I'm getting a new paint job while it's there Sara and Jay are fabulous. Calling the number on the website is faster than email. Love my GLVs!

i might take off the caps and respray the black portion and then do something to return the luster to the chrome areas. make it look brand new and whatnot
