Hi there, I am getting ready to rewick my kanger atomizer and was wondering what kind of general maintenance and stuff can and should be done with a cotton wick. Is it any different then a stock atomizer? Currently I wash off all my parts, including the atomizer, daily or every fill/flavor change. I haven't started to dry burn the atomizer yet since I figured i would do that when I rewicked it. Is it safe to just rinse the atomizer, running hot water over it and blowing it out, or should something else be done? Thanks! My current set up is Protank 2, air flow control valve, Kanger 2.2ohm atomizers, and an iTaste vv v3. I vape sweet juices, all at 50vg/50pg, and 18mg nicotine.

What I do is soak the heads in alcohol cheap drug store alcohol and rinse them let them dry or dry burn them. Soapy water for the tank and base. Don't leave the head in the alcohol for long as the rubber insulator does not like that. As long as you have a silica wick you can do the dry burn thing. I like to make sure all are dry before loading juice back in them.

With my bottom coil devices like the Kangers, I generally just rinse all parts in hot running water. I'll pop off the chimney from the base - and usually trash the flavor wicks. If using the original head assembly with silica wicks, you can then dry burn. If you choose to replace that with cotton, of course you can't dry burn that, so if the coil is gunked, just be ready with new cotton. Silica wicks can be dry burned many times before needed replacement.

I use P&C cotton yarn for flavor wicks. At your 50/50 mix, you may or may not need to replace them. Some have fine results without them. I prefer a thinner, higher PG blend, so need them to prevent leaks.
