There are many on this forum that say that you shouldn't "clean" the Aspire BVCs; that they are designed to be used and then discarded when you get a funky taste or poor performance. Personally, I regularly rinse my coils in clear hot water (under a running tap). By regularly, I mean every couple of days. By cleaning the coils more frequently, the chance of build up is minimized, even when using heavy VG e-liquid. If I've been using a particularly strong tasting juice, I'll give the coil a vodka bath for a couple of hours (after the water rinse); I keep a small amount of vodka in a baby food jar just for this purpose. I never dry burn the coils, as this practice could definitely destroy the wicking material and once the material is scorched, its useless; you'll always get a burnt taste. Instead, I will set the washed coils aside for a day or two and let them air dry. If you have two or three coils on the go, you will always have a fresh "cleaned" coil available to use. Right or wrong, this is what I do and it works for me. I generally vape 4-5ml of e-liquid per day and prefer 60/40 PG/VG ratios. I have not noticed any degradation or breakdown in my coils and I regularly get many weeks of use from one coil.
Ultimately, you have to decide for yourself if this method is safe and will work for you.
