anybody had any luck restoring taste and vapor draw after dry-burning a aspire BVC coil? ive seen it on youtube and tried myself, but the taste was bad (but the vapor picked up a lot)
F Youtube in the ear on this one, the ignorance of the people doing it is understandable, but bad news bears for others assuming they aren't. There's more information on why you shouldn't in the thread below, but basically that's a thin cotton gauze liner wrapped around fiberglass/ceramic fibers. No good can come of dry-burning cotton, let alone fiberglass.

I replaced my coil the other day and didn't take my spinner off when I did. I accidentally hit the button while screwing in my coil and dry burned it, got a horrible burnt metal taste from a brand new coil because of it. Swapped it back out for another new one, primed it, and was back to great flavor. Lesson learned, and definitely do not ever dry burn a bvc.
I am learning to toss dead coils instead of trying to clean them .Not much success with getting rid of old flavors through soaking, whether in vodka, distilled water or vinegar. Glad I've never tried the dry-burn.
Just little o'l dollar store denture cleaning tablets work very well. Or they use to for me. Just soak, rinse in warm water and air dry. It is so easy to dry burn my rm2 and easy to replace the wick. Getting ready to try readyxwick. It is the stuff that you can dry burn in the coil. Check out the website. The video there is unreal. I have read lots of positive comments regarding it. Good luck to you and happy vaping.
I've tried various methods none is worth. I've since learned to use "light" liquids. The worst you can do is to soak them in water. They will get a metallic + wet dog taste/smell after that and will clog again after a few ml of liquid.
thanks to all for the advice. looks like i'll just have to find a supplier and buy in bulk. people say they get 3 weeks off of these things and I just don't see how. my coil is never the same after a few days. to anyone who uses (or used) a silo tank: how do u store it at night? I just leave mine connected to the battery while the batt charges. I'm wondering if that has anything to do with my coil life...
There getting more from using lower VG juice with light flavors / dark lucky to get a week, if you knew how long it takes to properly dry burn / re wick a BVC you would end up just buying a rebuildable tank.
Thank you folks for validating my decision to PIF my Nautilus tanks after having gone through two coils in just over a week. Got a Kayfun and have never looked back.
