Yeah so ya posted in the wrong forum.. no biggie.. happens all the time if you look Up you can see the General Discussion board is next to this one..

If you're too rough with the atty's you can cause the soldier to come disconnected inside, this may be why they won't work. I suggest you mostly blow out your atty's into a paper towel and only rinse then under water or once a week. let them dry for a day or blow them out real good so most of the water is out then do a dry burn.. you can dry them the rest of the way with the dry burn because it's like it's own built in heater to evaporate the water without letting them sit for a day.

You may want to put in just a couple of drops of juice to prime them and try to see if you get a reaction from the coil. Or perhaps they were dying before you cleaned them? There could be lots of reasons why they won't fire but if you are sure they will not fire at all, don't worry about them and just get some new ones.

The differences are, on one hand you have an atty and a cartridge that's separate. You fill the cartridge and put it on the atty. With a cartomizer, the atty and cartridge and built as one unit. You fill this and connect it to your battery. Depending on the type of cartomizer you buy, you can get them in different sizes to hold more liquid, or clear ones so you can actually see the amount of liquid it holds. Some people prefer these so they can see when the cartomizer is getting close to being empty. That's the basics.. there are many other differences you will find when looking at various models. Some have a filter material like a cartridge and some have wicks that are like string. Some have the atty's on the top, others have the atty's on the bottom and like your regular atty, these too can come in different thread sizes and different ohm's for use at different voltages.

Hope this helps! Type in cartomizers in search and you will find a lot of info about the different ones.

I mean, Do the carto's leak?? Are they easier to clean??? I kinda want to switch over from atty's but being as they are cheaper than atty's, it leaves an impression that they have a rather short life.
convenience. and with boge 2.0s reliability. (many cartos are unreliable--so are some atomizers)

I just got my first cartomizers so I cannot tell you how long they last yet from experience.. I do know if I keep my regular atty's clean I can get about two weeks of good use out of them, two more weeks after that with them just being "o.k." I understand you should be able to get a good week out of an cartomizer but there are a lot of videos on you tube of folks boiling them in water to clean them. ( after removing the plastic end piece and the other rubber piece) Some atty's I use are well over a month old so I suppose if you keep the atty in the cartomizer clean, you can nurse them along for months. Lots of people would rather just throw them away than spend time cleaning them. Yes, cartomizers can leak some when you first fill them, some worse than others depending on the type you get. I know that don't help much, perhaps someone else will chime in.
