But according to the wiki page, it's suited well for cleaning? Perhaps also for extracting flavors in DIY as well?
Bought a pint of the 190 proof today for $8.99

Can't legally buy it here... It is well suited for cleaning, I just don't find it necessary to clean my attys other than how I mentioned earlier. YMMV

Pure Grain Alcohol (PGA,everclear) is often used in DIY..

Tucson, it's a dry heat
I'm a tiny bit inclined to try the vodka if I can re-use it. Hopefully my teens won't be tempted by dirty vape vodka. I dunno, I'll think about it - good ideas though everyone! I know I can't do the vinegar - I'm sensitive to the smell. My dad used to clean his coffeemaker with it and the whole house would smell like ketchup (gag.)

I have to go with the Everclear. 190 proof alcohol. Never a problem and I keep it in a Tupperware container so I can resuse it. A half pint will last a long time like that.

Same. I just bought a large 'handle' on sale for like $30. I can soak the atomizer or heads in a shot glass so should last me a very long time. I only drink beer and the occasional margarita at a restaurant but no liquor at home. The two times I did try embibing in everclear for enjoyment ended without any enjoyment and an empty stomach.

To OP, I think rum would have too many sugars left in it to be ideal but a really hood water rinse or soak afterwards and it should be alright. Otherwise you can always buy some really nasty plastic bottle vodka for dirt cheap.
