If you use IPA just make sure to blow it out real well after, and maybe let it dry a while.
I usually just use a hot water rinse/blow out.
There's 100 vids about it, and 100 opinions. Advice:
1) Keep it simple.
2) Dry burns shorten the life of an atty, but can "resurrect" an otherwise dead atty.
So I'd recommend:
1) Try hot water rinse. (Or boiling water soak). Repeat running the water through a few times. And then blow out real well.
2) If that fails, try the IPA and/or Vodka/Everclear/PGA soak and blow out.
3) If that fails, do a dry burn.
Make sure to blow them out at least once a day if used continually for dripping. Prevents gunk from accumulating in the 1st place. Also, some juices gunk-up faster than others.
Lemon juice followed by water is reported to help clean out old flavors without too much trouble. It has some natural sugars in it tho, so clean it out with water or something after rinsing with it. Vinegar does this too, but leaves a nastier sour taste behind than does the lemon juice.
Good Luck!
