Joyetech 510-T, how to clean atomizers?

New to this ecig stuff. I've been using my joyetech 510-T ecig for a month, and love it! I got some new flavors I'd like to try, but need to clean the old stuff out. I'm a little confused by all the different variations of carts and atomizers! I've looked through other threads and they talk about cleaning filters, bridges, wicks, and all kinds of other stuff. I feel like I have something different than everyone else. Mine is just a wick with a sharp stabby thing to pierce the top the the cartridge. Seems like boiling is the way to go, but I don't want to break what I have. I bought my e cig here:

Seems like if it were dropped in liquid, it might mess it up.

edit: The easiest thing is to soak it in or run it under very hot water, then, blow out and dry.
