I've seen this asked before, but has anyone come up with a working solution to cleaning auto batts? I have about a half-dozen that "mostly" work, but they're aggravating to say the least.

I've tried alcohol and even pg to clean these things, but I can't see any difference. I'm starting to wonder if the little diaphrams in them just flat wear out after enough use, and there's no way to save them.

Comments? :)

was going to ask the very same question! I have a couple of 402 batts that all of a sudden started acting up. they will work, but you have to blow on them real hard to activate them - defeats the purpose of inhaling through them.

anyone??
Have you guys been dripping with them? If so, then that's your problem. You shouldn't drip with auto batteries, they are not sealed. Mind you a flooded atty will produce the same results. If you get any gurgling sound when vaping, stop what you are doing and blow out your atty from the batt end into a tissue.

Attempting to clean an battery with PG is just plain.... that's probably what got you in this mess in the first place.

No dripping here, but I have overfilled a cart now and then.

The experiment with PG was done on an already malfunctioning battery that had been previously cleaned with alcohol. Based on what PG is used for, I figured it wouldn't hurt to try it on a battery that was already in the trash pile. Surprisingly, it didn't seem to hurt.

Looking for other experiments and the results...

In that case fill it full of rubbing alcohol, shake like a mother.... drain and let dry. repeat the procedure, wait 24hrs and give it a whirl. If it is better, repeat the aforementioned procedure and try again. If it improves, but not quite there, toss it or continue.

The M4XX batts whether you drip or not always accumulate liquid at the atty connection. Wipe them often and always store them vertically, threads down.

iv also had aggravating problems with my m601 auto battery ...though i would over fill and flood the atty...;0p...now my battery has a super duper hard draw and only works once and awhile...i would love to find a thread that shows an awesome way to fix & clean these auto batts with out any draw backs...I'm a noob....so I'm very wary on pouring rubbing alcohol on the batt to clean it out..any suggestions & tips would be greatly appreciated...thank u...luckily i have a spare batt and its working properly and I'm treating it like a king...lol...also have a manual on the way...hope that solves some of my problems with the overly sensitive switch on the auto batt...i love it but i cant use it at band practice due to the loud instruments & noise setting it off... and cant smoke in the car with the window down due to the strong wind & noise setting it off urghhh...but i do love my m60X series.... great draw, flavor, & throat hit....

Here is what I have been doing and it seems that its working (so far)

Roll the corner of a kleenex and stick it into the hole in the battery (threaded end) and gently rotate it around - do this slowly and if you feel any "tangling" or resistance, slowly back it off the opposite direction. There are wires inside there. hold it there for a few minutes or more. The kleenex will wick the juice out of that area.

Next - roll the corner of another end of the kleenex and place it in the "breather" hole located on the threaded end (below the threads on the rim of the battery). it will only go in about 1/16 of an inch. Hold it there.
Take the LED cap off the LED end. Place the whole end in your mouth, holding your lips tight around it and try to blow through. it will feel as though your not doing anything but you are.

if you dont want to blow through it, you can leave the battery with the kleenex in the breather hole placed threads down over night and let it wick that way too.

Seems to have worked on a number of batts that I have that were doin the funky monkey on me...
