just not worth my time, my LR510's are lasting about 60 days or so and some more some less without touching them, maybe a dry burn once in a blue moon, heck for $3 each why even bother going through all the cleaning process, I just chuck them once there performance starts to lack

I have been using 510's for over 16 months now and can honestly say the FASTEST and EASIEST way to clean these atty's is in Denatured Alcohol - and that's it. I had 8 atty's I thought were headed for the trash. Mine only vaped really well for about 6 days then a noticeable drop in vapor and throat hit (I use JC liquid - lots of flavoring). Well, I almost junked them, but found this video on youtube: YouTube - 510 Atomizer Cleaning. ( e-Cig ) After using this technique all my atty's work like new. The best part is there is no 24 hr waiting period, and denatured alcohol is 100% alcohol with a very high evaporation rate. I was able to test the cleaned atty's within 20 minutes.

I tried the 3-minute Polident, but that uses water (long dry time) and the atty's did not perform as well as the one's cleaned with DA.

denatured alcohol is just as poisonous as isopropyl, so my choice was 190 proof everclear on the grounds that it wouldn't actually make me go blind or something. I had quite poor luck though. In a couple cases it actually made them worse. the denture/dry burn was the next method I tried and it worked a ton better for me. Only mistake I made was trying it on some cartomizers. Still worked fine but now they are all minty fresh which makes everythig taste weird. Cleaned the heck out of em though.

I'm pretty sure that's only if you INGEST it. You might want to watch the video again. The idea is to use it to CLEAN the atty, not use it as a JUICE.

I just used it about an hour ago and I'm vaping like a rockstar.

And did you get it all out? It's surprising how slowly alcohol evaporates when it is not spread out super thinly on a warm surface like skin. especially if it is mixed with some water. Me i wouldn't be at all surprised if you vaped some isopropl after only an hour.

As for drinking vs. inhaling the difference is nil. Remember how breathalysers work? it goes both ways. Alcohol vapes fine BTW. It's arguably better than VG in some ways. I tried vaping some pure everclear and it worked fine. I'm not sure how well it works inthe long term. It seems to get my attys dirty faster for some reason.

If you drink isopropyl it gets you drunk just like untreated alcohol. It's merely that over time it can be highly dangerous.

I usually just run water through mine and shoot them with a water pik, I think I did that 2 or 3 times with this atty guessing it is pretty horrid

That atty was 4 or so months old, the other night it was tasting burnt (seems to happen often even if liquid is flowing out of the damn thing, any atty/flavor...such luck I've had, first week was great, last 4 months have been lame, no flavor etc) so I took some tweezers and pulled out the clear "hairs" which cut the vapor production by like 75% so I figured it was done, ripped it apart since I have a few new ones coming...Guessing a clean one looks somewhat clearer

I might just buy some high proof and put it through them every week or something

I'm still using the PolyDent every now and then for the gunked up attys from the dark juices i.e. MsT's, The Vapor Room Super Mint, some coffee flavors.

The clear juices don't seem to gunk my attys up...i.e TWDV mentholyptus, ECOpure, Digital Cigsz Sub Zero Menthol etc.

When it gets to the dry burn time, even on attys just as routine maintenance before they even need the PolyDent cleanse, I have discovered that putting them on my little 5v mod is a "sure fire" way to perk them up again and get them glowing bright and vaping like champs.
CAUTION: Only a few short pulses is all it takes, making sure they don't get too hot, then they go back on my 510's, eGos, Rivas.

Putting a few drops of plain PG on them, blowing them out, few more drops, blowing them out, and then dry burning also seems to clear out some of the tobacco flavors pretty good, too.

I've also discovered that when an atty is just not putting out the vapor, it is time to replace the cart filler. I use Fluval and it seems to quick wicking good after a few days. When I replace it, I'm good to go for a few more days without any atty cleaning or dry burning.
