Cleaning box mods

I have a dual wooden box mod with a adjustable 510 connection. I'm posting to ask how to clean the 510 connection? I can get about half of it with a qtip but since the 510 pin is there I can't get it cleaned all the way. I can definitely tell it does t hit as hard as it did before.
Is there a trick you guys do?

I like to use a dremel with a polishing/buffing tip for deep cleanings.
