Cleaning eGo-C atomizers

My hubby bought me some new green beauties that came in yesterday!

I've been using a 510 setup almost since starting vaping and haven’t felt the need to go to anything bigger, but he let me use his eGo-Cwhen I left mine at home and I liked the draw so he got these as an earlybirthday present! Couldn’t resist showing them off although anyone in this forum knows what they look like obviously.

What is the recommended method for cleaning the little atomizers? With my 510 I would just rinse them out, let them dry, do a dry burn, and rinse again. Would that work with these? Any other suggestions?

Happy early Birthday!

What I did and it worked well for about a year is that when the draw began to get a bit tight, I'd throw the coil unit only:

..into a 151 proof vodka bath. Cheap unflavored, uncolored Galen's vodka. Everclear is also good if available in your state. Leave it there for about a half hour. Let it dry on a paper towel and stick it back in the holder. No need to blow it out although you could. This would last me about 3 weeks to a month and then I'd do it again - maybe one more time then pitch it and use another head coil unit.

I fried two units and two batts dry burning these, so I don't recommend it but some do. Even when I was successful with dry burns, I'd still do the vodka bath to wash away the 'soot'.

Some get more 'specific' by opening up the unit by removing the spike plate BUT the wicking is inside the spike and can sometimes be 'connected' to the coil - there's a 'fluff' of the wicking by the coil and sometimes - esp. with dark ejuices with particulates, it can get stuck on or near the coil so when you remove the spike plate it can take the coil with it and basically ruin the unit. So if you do that, do it carefully and even then you have to put both the wicking in the spike and the coil part in the vodka. (or remove the wicking from the spike of course - but the placing of the wick is important - too low and you'll get dry hits, too high and you'll get leaks through the coil. ) You can then clean out the 'pot' around the coil with a thin Qtip or cosmetic swab that fits in to clear away the gunk that remains.

If you use vodka you don't have to rinse with water and it dries faster than water......

Great advice, thanks! Opening up the cans seems like a lot of work, but if the alcohol bath, careful dry burn, alcohol bath cycle gets a couple of months of life out of the atomizer then I'll be happy. Thanks again, Kent!

Welcome! Yeah.... just dropping the whole coil unit in the vodka bath works well and will give you months more use. Again 2 maybe 3 baths then change units.
