cleaning led to bad taste?

I don't know what happened, I took all the filters out of the 5 carts I had and took the atty off, ran the atty under warm water, let it sit over night. Washed the filters and dried them completely, soaked 'em in eliquid and when I went to smoke it this morning it wasn't hitting very well, almost getting nothing, I even put a few drops on the atty because I heard it's helpful after cleaning to get it going and working good, and it didn't seem to help. Once I finally got it going (and even as I was working on getting it going) I noticed it doesn't taste as good as it did before and almost left me feeling a little nauseous, maybe it's just one of those days that I don't feel good, but it still tasted a little funny to me.

Anyone ever come across this funny tasting issue after cleaning? Maybe my senses are all just off today I don't know.

Perhaps a case of bad water? Haven't heard anything about it yet, but it was something we had to address when we started making our eliquid. Tap water has too much junk in it.

The other thing I can think is that you only softened up the resin on the coil, re-burning it when you went to hit it again, that would explain poor performance and nasty flavor.
