Cleaning Mech Mod Contacts with Tarn-X ?

Hello,

Fairly new to mech mods and had a quick question. What do you folks use to clean your copper contacts ?

Specifically I just got a Nzonic V3. I picked up a bottle of Tarn-X, wiped with a q-tip till shiny. Wiped dry. Used some 95% alcohol to clean the tips again. Finished off with a very light coat of noalox ?

Just checking if im overdoing it ? Doing it wrong ?

I stumbled on a thread through a google search where it mentioned Tarn-X is a no no for mech mods ?

Any info appreciated

I use this after some soap and water: Scratch Brush, Fiberglass (Colors may vary) - Amazon.com

It exposes fresh metal, then I put a bit of Vasaline. It keeps the air out and prevents tarnish but doesn't make as big of a mess as noalox.

White pencil eraser works excellent for cleaning copper contacts. A few quick swipes and you have shiny new contacts, and little mess (a few eraser crumbles if the contact is slotted)
