Cleaning my new tank

Hi everyone!

Finally received my Kanger Mini Protank II and it looks great However, just wondering if anyone could give me advice on cleaning the device before using it, as I noticed the whole package had quite a 'chemical' smell when I first opened it. Keen to get rid of any dangerous manufacturing residues etc before vaping, as I'm quite OCD about what might be going into my lungs (hence the switch from smoking)! Currently soaking the individual parts in some warm water - anything else I should know about?

A little bit of dawn dish soap followed by a quick vodka bath then rinsed with hot water and dried. Takes machine oil taste out of my drippers should help with your new mini.

I never use dish soap on anything except metal/glass - it can be really difficult to get the soap out (the coil/rubber parts)! I rinse mine with hot water and then do the vodka soak

Thanks guys. I've read that soaking in vodka can be dangerous as vaping alcohol can cause problems. Is this just an urban myth, or should I just stick to water? Sorry, am so new to all this!

Make sure the alcohol is dried before vaping. I always resist the temptation to use immediately. I do the same as what they say, rinse with hot water, give an alchahol bath, dry it the best I can, then put it on the shelf for tomorrow.

Personally I have never used a vodka bath, but I know that soap and a hot water scrub then soak for about 10 minutes will definitely get the taste out.

Oh! and to speed up the drying process you can blow out the individual parts with your mouth or with a hairdryer! if you are impatient like me

For "normal" cleaning I just use hot water. If I feel it needs a serious cleaning I use a strong alcohol like Everclear and then rinse with water afterwards.

I've read some posts on here about really bad tastes after using dish soap. I always rinse my protanks in really hot water when I get them. Then you can do the alcohol rinse, as suggested.

I soak the coil in vodka over night and dry burn the next day..

On just the tank by itself I use eco free ( free of dye and perfumes ) dish soap and then rinse well. I have some e-liquids that linger in the glass/pyrex and acrylics tanks. Everything else I run hot water over.

For coils I soak in Everclear then soak in hot water then let them dry overnite. It's amazing to see how white the silica/cotton comes back to life especially after using dark, sweet e-liquids.

as stated...usually hot water soak over night is enough
though I will admit I tried alcohol soak and it really does help clean up the wick (I used bacardi because that's all I had on hand and on a side note the first few vapes off of a bacardi soaked wick is awesome )

I've also read people using denture cleaners....still haven't tried that yet myself, keep forgetting every time i'm at the grocery store.
